There's much to like about the Meta Quest Pro but also a lot to dislike. Especially that price. What makes it worth it or is it never worth that price? I try to find out!

This is the Quest Pro. Meta's latest high-end VR headset that just released yesterday. It has some impressive upgrades. Today, I'll the unboxing, setup, and first impressions. More soon!

I tested those controllers with bother Eleven Table Tennis and Nock. The controllers were perfect and I no longer have frustrations with losing tracking. Totally worth it for those games. I assume Echo VR will also benefit from this hugely.

Something to keep in mind is that the price for the Pro is not based on what the headset actually is, or its specs. There is a difference between pricing for business products and consumer products. Typically, products sold for business use, are significantly more expensive than the same product, sold for consumer use. The Pro is sold as an 'enterprise' product, not a consumer gaming product. This is why the price is $1500. It isn't really about what the product is or what it can do. It is about who or what the product is sold to. If people are interested in purchasing the Pro, keep in mind that you are not buying it at a price meant for consumer products. They are buying it at a price meant for corporations. Some people say that the Pro should include more for $1500, but they are thinking in terms of a consumer product, which the Pro is not. Corporations always pay more and if anyone buys a Pro for gaming, so will they. Better to wait for the consumer version, which is probably the Q3.

At this high of price I can't see it becoming anywhere near as mainstream as the quest 2, but as a bystander, seeing technological advancements like this is amazing

Just got my headset yesterday. I'm loving it so far! Still ironing out the quirks, but the only drawback for professional use is the software. I feel like the hardware is good enough for what they want. They just need to get working on this quickly.

Resolution and battery life are the bummer for me but still considering WFH setup using this and looking for indepth review about feasibility of work gear before pulling a trigger !

I always like your review videos. I was a bit shocked about how bad the color passthrouth looks though, especially considering that there are such superior technologies in some other (very high-end to be fair) headsets.

But I didn't know you're a developer haha, that's so cool! May I ask what you are programming for / in which language (if this was your code)?

I can definitely use immersed for hours. and the color passthrough works OK. I just wish that the headset could be used with "lower end" laptops, for things like office work. because my job obviously won't give everyone in the worldwide company a monster gaming laptop. but a laptop that just fits an employees need. if the headset could just mirror the screen of a lower end laptop, it would be the best purchase I've made all year. the other current issue I've run into, is that even though it's compatible with everything the Quest 2 uses, I noticed that it is not compatible with the DLink VR air bridge. It works great with the Quest 2, so DLink or meta should get to work on an update to make it compatible.

If it as good at productivity as they make it sound, it could be one of those products you can justify for both work and play.
I'm looking forward to testing it with Adobe Substance Modeler.

Quest Pro looks pretty inviting. Love the improved controllers, and the rechargeable controllers and charging dock - I had to buy a separate Anker dock for my Quest 2. Eye tracking and facial recognition is cool. Mixed reality is only mildly interesting for me, but I do use it to learn piano. That said, $1, 500 US is completely out of my gaming budget, and it’s unlikely I will spring for the Pro until my Quest 2 gives out. Which I hope isn’t anytime soon.

I'm a software engineer and am seriously considering it as a computer environment. I've tried that in a quest 2, but the resolution is such the it makes my eyes ache after 15 minutes. That is my basic question: can I put in 6 hours of writing time and not hurt when I'm done? I look forward to your review!
