Introducing Meta Quest Pro

I thought it was a bit foolish to get a Quest 2 last summer, but after seeing the price tag of this, I'm glad I did.

1-2 hour battery life, No 120 hertz refresh rate, Same FOV and resolution as Quest 2, 256gb max storage, and it doesn't come with a facial interface for $1500? That is absolutely mad. This headset is a real POS, and I was going to buy it as a replacement for my 3 monitors and Quest 2 before hearing the specs. Even for commercial use, you need more than 8 hours of battery life or super fast charging, and it has neither

Considering Meta’s intention at one point (at least I thought I heard this somewhere) was to make VR and in turn the Metaverse accessible to everyone, a product at this price was… slightly out of my expectation. I understand what this is though and in all fairness it does looks incredible, so maybe we’ll see over time.

The Microsoft teams integration for the future is going to be very interesting, and huge upside enterprise potential. Looking forward to seeing how companies will integrate it into their workflow. I hope Meta showcases some of the usecases their business partners will be using these headsets for.

Given the housing constraints, we would have liked to see a battery-replaceable system like the VIVEFocus3 if it were an enterprise-oriented product.

I have this headset, not sure what all the hate is about, its amazing for PCVR and well worth its price, people are just ignoring how huge eye and facetracking is, this is wayy better than my quest 2.

The Quest 2 is for a wider market. The Quest Pro is for high-end. Learnings from the Quest Pro will funnel to Quest 3, etc. It’s sad how few people understand the basics of Meta’s strategy (consumer tech in general).

Remember, this is primarily made for BUSINESSES. The price is high, sure, but that's because it's mostly for companies.
