Good job on the info bro, lean bulking is the way to go for T production and hormonal balance. especially for us young men and teens it’ll boost your growth way more than a cut or maintaining weight. But for my calisthenics people, a lean bulk isn’t bad, it’ll actually make your body weight excersises slight difficult, but you should definitely be doing weighted calisthenics if you want to pack on muscle and get anywhere with your journeys.

I’ve heard that if your like 15% body fat or above, you can build muscle at maintenance calories. The theory is, whatever extra calories(energy) your body needs it’ll take from your fat(energy) storage. Is this bs? I’m in it for the aesthetics btw.

If your 20 percent bf ish id recomend maintenence if your in your first year. Yes itll take long as hell but recomping 5-10 poinds can drastically make a difference. This is assuming your not 6’3 or somthing.

You can absolutly gain muscle without gaining fat, you only need to eat at maintnance calories, eat enough protein (1g x lbs of bodyweight) and train hard, you don't need a calorie surplus to gain muscle.
So my take is: eat maintnance calories, eat 1g proteinx lbs of bodyweight and train harder than last time, and that will get you a long way. ì
You could end up gaining a little more muscle (1-2lb) by bulking but then when you have to cut and loose the fat you gained and you'll also loose maybe half the extra muscle you gained and be hungry
