I own a 2014 xl1200c and a 1989 fxsts... the xl is better around town thanks to the efi...but i love the fxsts way more on the freeways and general overal sound of a carbie harley is hard to beat

Hey Patrick, Thanks for another great video.... I have long preferred the carbed motorcycle.over EFI... however I couldn't pass up the screaming deal I got my 06 FLHXI TC88...as you mentioned getting stranded on the side of the road has been my main reason for carbed bikes. In your opinion, would it be a complicated endeavor to remove the EFI and install an aftermarket carb on the TC88 my bike is equipped with? Mikuni 42? I'm thinking easy job but what do I know.. I could be in over my head in a nano second.. Thoughts on this please... TIA

hi i am building a dyna i have a 2006 motor and a 2007 frame. I like doing things myself. I like what you said about carbs and fuel injection. I was thinking SS Super E with cams and heads ported. I know the 2006 heads have bigger exhaust valves already with the shorter stroke of the tc88., what Say You? Cams?

On a 03 1200 with drag pipes what jets do you recommend? The manual says a 45&180 so that’s what I’m running but she likes to cough a lot

I have a 2000 Road King police fuel injected and it was running and my storage for about an hour and came back and turned off and the throttle is stuck now closed and the fuel injector was and I sprayed a little bit of WD-40 on it now the fuel injector opens and closes the throttle body but they won the cable will not open close of butterflies

On point is a fuel injection system on Harleys..the engine will be totally different in design..the crank is engineered different because fuel delivery is different the crank cannot idle like a carburetor engine...the sound is less then impressive..I'm old school..because..new efi bikes require dealership support...I on the other hand can totally rebuild my engine...the new bikes to me have less quality control and less sound...its a shame..but unfortunately in maybe 10....20. Years old school bikes...will not be available to anyone....

I personally think this video is sorta stupid and is no different than carbs to FI as the same old story has been true since the 1950s. Great for the newbie but not really any different than it has always been.
