Slight correction: the vga and hdmi ports on the desktop and laptop computers are actually "output", not "input", ports. Great explanation! Far better than a lot of stuff on other similar channels.

This is the best video I've found that explains this process. Clear, to the point, easy to understand (I'm in my 60s and not very tech savvy!) I've had so many people tell me more complex solutions that I don't need or want such as casting, as I am only wanting to see my desktop photo galleries on a second tv for artwork purposes. Very nice explanation. I thought my son how to do this since it was very helpful for me during my college years. Over 15 years ago😊😊 it's been a big help for him with his virtual class. It's even better and easier now to do it with the Smart TVs. I highly recommend Sony Bravia and Samsung😊

As some one who is not very techy I was able to set up a second monitor and get my sound to come out of the speakers I had not attached to the tv I needed set up as my new main monitor. All because of this man and this video! CANT THANK YOU ENOUGHT!! I didn't think I could do it I was sure I was going to have to ask one of the people at work to help me but I DID IT!!! I’ve hooked up my desktop to my 37”flatscreen wall mounted tv and run the sound through my high end computer speakers. Did it all within an hour or two and all works perfect. Thanks Dude!
