We have tried 2 different antennas that do not work with our tv as we can not get any channels to be found when we scan for channels. This video is NOT helpful at all.

If you have a newer Vizio, and the TV Channels option is greyed out, go to the input settings and select COMP. You'd then be able to select TV Channels and proceed with third steps in the video.

We do not have an RF cable connection on the back of our Vizio TV? So how do we connect an antenna to it?

You can't search for channels unless you first change Input to Antenna.

I was curious as to what sort of TV was on the local broadcast stations on a Vizio TV and it absolutely astounded me that in 2022, TV's lack something we took for granted in the 60's & 70's. An antenna, without which you can't get broadcast TV at all is not included. A friend who lives out in the country bought an antenna for $40 or so and got a picture, although not a very good one. Same on all the other channels. He tried another antenna that didn't work too well either. Finally, he came upon some of those old-fashioned rabbit ears from the 1960's at a thrift store and managed to hook them up. Worked great on all the local broadcast channels. Guess I'll be doing some thrift shopping. I remember doomsayers in the '60's saying "one of these days, if we ever get that "pay TV" we won't be able to get any Free TV at all". I found that hard to believe at the time. OK, doomsayers, danged if you weren't right!

How old is this video? This interface isn’t the same as the one I’m currently looking at.

Does anybody from Vizio ever answer the concerns and questions raised here?

My TV does not have an outlet marked for an antenna

Also definitely didn’t work. This video is the basic way that everyone with a tv should be able to do. Problem is that once you scan the local channels nothing is popping up.

I scan the antenna for channels and it shows that it found 69 channels but I can't see the images, can someone help me?

My second Vizio first one went out in two years, my second was a gift. Vizio tvs have no place to connect a coaxial cable, no coaxial connection.

Am I the only one who noticed that Vizio turned off the common section on their smartcast video? That's because they themselves know how slow and crappy smart cast is compared to others streaming services and it's been that way for years now and for whatever reason they still have yet to make it better and faster🤦🏾‍♂️

My older Vizio allowed me to bring up an over the antenna channel guide by pressing the “Info” button on my remote. It gave details on the current show and the schedule for that channel and all the other available stations. I can’t find that on my 4K Vizio that I just purchased. Any suggestions? Model V505-J09
