My family is half Occitan but we no longer speak Occitan.
My last relative who spoke Occitan died in 1882 and from then no one from my family has ever spoken Occitan.

They have been banned, shunned & frowned upon in italy like our culture for 170 years now, since the marxist revolutions, the "european springs." We even speak Catalan (Occitan) in Sardinia, in Naples & Palermo & Provencal in Calabria & Basilicata.

Arany Zoltan is usually cool with people stealing his music, you should credit him though. He is a Hungarian musician who plays every instrument (yeah every instrument) and sings in this video. The official upload is on his channel. He is a modern troubadour, and his mother tongue isn't even Occitan.
