I continually find the parallels between puppy training and child rearing interesting: focusing on the positive, setting them up for success, “catch” them being good to reinforce the behaviors you like, making sure they have a lot of mental and physical exercise as well as a healthy diet, and most important is the loving bond.

So many people get dogs and that’s it. No training what so over. These videos are absolutely essential and wonderful as well. This trainer is great.

Can you do a video that models the ideal routine of someone working full time? For example, showing what you would do in the morning, how you situate them when you leave (toys, treats, etc), what you would do when you come back during lunch, and then again when you return in the evening. Also, if you use a two way camera and see them getting worked up while you're out, do you try to interact with them through the camera?

Wow I have a cross German shepard 14 years old . Zac your amazing . Within 2 days my dog buddy has stopped barking, sits when asked, sleeps on his own, doesn't beg at mealtimes, I didn't use the chain in the house or a cage just used the treats and eye contact . Amazing so glad I found you . Keep up the good work. Keeley from Sheffield, UK

You are the most patient person. I am loving the advice and mixing it with other methods that my dog enjoys. Thank you Zak!

Inertia is literally the goal!!! I've been watching her since i got my BC puppy a little over a month ago. Your videos are so helpful and YES! They 100% work! My pup can now sit and lay down without luring. Leave it, recall and stay command are improving too! Now, just like inertia, my pup loves chewing my shoes and pants too! 😅 still got a long way to go but I'm so glad I found this channel. Thank you!

I haven't trained a puppy in a long time, but lost my 2 Bernese last year. My Christmas puppy arrived in January, Goldendoodle, so, so different from the Berners in most ways! They were regal beasts and little Lincoln is the court jester! These lessons are so good for me and Lincoln, upbeat, kind, gentle, and fun. Just a couple of days watching and trying and remembering and Lincoln is a better puppy already. Thank you Zak

I absolutely love this summary!! I got my first dog about 6 months ago and whenever people comment on how well trained he is (#prouddogmom 🤓💙) I always reference to YOU, as we "grew up on" Inertia's videos. This is such a great video that summarizes your philosophy and actually HOW to do it. There were some things that I trained/train a bit differently than how you did, but the choir ideas presented in this videos are always there. It's amazing to bond with my first dog so strongly. Thank you!!

I have a 10 month old lab, "Joey". He is at his best behaviour because of Zak's videos.
There have been times when i think the training is not going anywhere and i'm getting frustrated. But then i look at Zak's video and he honestly admits that even for him it doesn't go as planned at times.
So thumbs-up to the best set of dog training videos out there. Watching these gave me the confidence to bring "Joey" into our lives.

Side effect of these training videos - I'm raising a stickler for belly rubs. He seldom barks at strangers, and if they call him by his name, he happily will run towards them wagging his tail to play. Double-facepalm.

The most impressive part was how Inertia ate the bowl of food at the beginning so slowly! My pup Diego would have inhaled that.

I've been planning on getting a puppy so I've been binge watching these videos. My sister experienced resource guarding in her nearly two year old min pin when she got a new type of bone and I knew exactly what advice to give her! It was so exciting to realize I've had some real take aways from these videos already!

It makes me giggle when Inertia sits by the table and eats like a people :D Good girl.

I have no formal teaching when it comes to training dogs. I have successfully trained several myself. Everything this guy says is true. Consistency is everything. I figured this all out the hard way, save yourself the trouble, watch and follow this video.

This channel has helped me so much with training my German shepherd puppy. I watch other channels, too, and I don’t shy away from using training collars because they are very effective, but other channels just don’t spend the time to explain how to get the dog to motivate itself to do what you want instead of motivating itself to avoid things that it doesn’t want. Both are good methods, but it’s just so nice to have my dog want to do things just because she knows I want her to do them. After all, she’s usually free from any kind of training collar most of the day, so it’s nice that she still responds even when she knows I physically can’t deliver any corrections.
