I accidentally made my husky immune to loud noises bc I got him just a few weeks before Christmas & my family has LOUD gatherings leading up to Christmas & New Years Eve. So, I was shocked when the 4th of July came around & he did not care one bit about fireworks lmao he actually even likes watching them. So, 10/10 would recommend loud family members w party poppers to socialize your dogs 👌🏼

My wife and I potty trained our puppy by hanging a little bell by the back door. When ever we went out into the backyard, we would ring the bell first. Within a few days, she was telling us she wanted to go outside all on her own. Granted, this ended up working for both potty trips and play time.

We have a Newfoundland seizure service dog that is very well trained. When she’s working, she’s all business. She has one quirk! When you start to take her down the frozen food isle at our local target store, she STOPS! She refuses to go down that isle. Something to do with the noise frequency of the freezers. Rather than stress her out, we just walk around it. Trainer we have has been a big help trying to sort that out. Amazing dog!

We had two English Pointers who were litter mates, male and female. They were easily crate trained and potty trained.
Fast forward 10 years, we still had "Bandit"the male dog. We got a puppy, a female who followed Bandit around and learned everything from him. Even potty training!
Training is everything ! A well-behaved, socialized dog is a joy to be around.

The 3 things I taught my dog is,
Potty training, Socializing and the most important 2 words ever, Leave It!
I do have a Kennel for her and she goes in there on her own. That was the 4th thing I taught her.
She now knows over 30 commands and even some hand signals.

Grooming is also very important!! As a groomer, we see older dogs who were never grooming trained and they freak the hell out even if they've been there before.

I had a lot of issues with my husky mix early on. After eight or nine months I got a crate for when I was gone. It resolved every single issue. She loves it. She naps in it and sleeps in it at night, door literally tied open. I guess she wanted her own space. She hasn't even fussed when in it with the door shut while I'm gone.

I totally blew it with my dog. I was ready to put the time in and then some personal stuff got in the way. I had originally acquired the dog for my wife, but she couldn’t handle it. Next thing you know I’m faced with a dog that is freaking out from the need for attention, the need to be trained and all that goes with it.
As I mentioned, I watched the videos as often, as I could, and picked up the pieces little by little, and he’s finally mostly on track.

We literally had a roommate that after he was told not to get a dog went and got a husky puppy and didn't do any of these 3 things that you're recommending and the 2 and a 1/2 months that he was living in me and my boyfriend's apartment was absolute hell I 100% support this video

Totally agree! I crate trained my most recent acquisitions since they may need to be boarded at some point and didn't want them to freak out and be difficult.

I couldn't socialise my dog because he spent about 1 year in a vet clinic. But he is very friendly towards people, only other animals he wants to attack.

I just let my dogs sleep with me. I've o ly crate trained one dog ever and that's my current dog. Her crate is her own private room, she can go there whenever she wants to relax, she also eats there.

My parents missed every single step.
*-* They have 2 miniature schnauzers 2 toy schnauzers that go MEANTAL at the sight of strangers.
*-* All 4 spend 80% of their time in a crate or pen bc if they're not being watched like a hawlk 24/7 the house will become a community porta-potty
*-* Also... if you're not standing right next to them outside WATCHING them go to the bathroom they will not go & will come inside to go instead.
*-* And you have to put a blanket over their crate so they stay quiet.

All dogs are 6+ years old btw 💀 yay! Untrained adult dogs

Update: my mother finally couldn't take it anymore & gave all [but 1] away to random familys! 😀 then she had the audasity to try & blame me for "not helping" (even tho I'm THE ONLY 1 IN THE HOUSE THT TOOK CARE OF THEM) her own husband tht bought them didn't help & neither did either of my two 18+ siblings did. Meenwhile she sat in her room 24/7 watching Facebook vids instead of taking care of & training the dogs *SHE* chose to keep getting.
