This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. 5 applications, a tie to an object, a slip, a loop, a stop and joining two cords - all from ONE basic knot. Genius, great video thank you!

The cord on my earbuds can tie all of these knots, without me even trying 🤣

The noose knot was the last knot I ever learned...

I’m an old boater and this presentation gave me all kinds of uses for your knot. Well done on the view and narrative, thanks

Explaining the construction of a bowline through an imaginary-marlin-spike knot setup is absolutely brilliant. I've learned and relearned the bowline but always had trouble being confident at retaining it (I just don't practice enough), but your explanation clicked for me in a new and exciting way. I'm quite certain that I'll start there in my mind with every bowline and have a much easier time with them from now on :D Also love the nice little stopper knot. I've always heard the single simple noose knot called a "fisherman's knot", and I use it a lot, but it never occurred to me to use it as a start for a nice thick symmetrical stopper knot. Great video, thanks for this!

working on them old drilling rigs a "bow line" on large rope and a "double half hitch" on chains, these 2 knots you must know, a man's life is on the line, there's a 3rd. we called a "rolling half hitch" used to tie on the loose end of a cable or pipe that won't slip off, that's very important as well, over 40 years of breaking roughnecks out I've taught 100's of men, the knots in this video are among the ones a person needs to know also, great video

A rope walks into a bar, and orders a beer. The bartender says "Sorry we don't serve your kind here". The rope goes outside, ties himself in a bow, and spikes his end. He goes in the bar and orders a beer. The bartender says "hey aren't you the rope that was just in here?" and he says "nope, I'm a frayed knot"
