the brightness of the rope with the dark background and the right amount of stiffness in the rope, and the pace of demonstrating and explaining, helped me understand and memorize how to tie this knot.

I was a sailor and tie a bowline fast but had never seen it tied that way. Very impressive and I think it’s easier to follow for rookies! Very cool!

28 yrs I've been using this knot, and struggle to orientate myself whenever I tie around something. this IS THE SOLUTION! Thank you! 😉

I've seen over a dozen videos on how to tie a bowline, and this, in my opinion, is the best. It checks all the boxes.

Thank you. I've never seen it tied that way. My Grandfather was a Merchant Marine in the Spanish American War, and he taught me many knots when I was a young child. My parents told me years later, that "Pappy" had taught me how to tie a Bowline when I was still in diapers and his favorite arithmetic problem was 6 x 7 = 42. These are two things I remember about my Pappy.
Thank you for a very nice demonstration.

The German name for this knot is "Palstek". I have often used it, but I always built it in a more complicated manner. Thank you for showing this better way!

Dude, thank u so much. This is easily the best tutorial. My grandfather taught me the rabbit rhyme and that never worked for me. This is by far much more superior thank you

Excellent. All instructional videos should be like this; short, concise, excellent visual aids, and great narration.

My favorite way to teach a bowline. I tell learners to pull the standing end through like they are tying an overhand knot. Then pass the running/bitter end through the bight they just created. Fold the end back on itself and tug on the standing end. It was the first way I could consistently remember how to tie a bowline. Rabbits, trees and holes never quite made sense for years . Easy to tie under duress this way as well. RIP Lt. Daniel Irvine Glen Echo FD who taught me this 43 years ago.

After hearing NoNonsenseKnowHow rave about this knot so many times over so many videos, I couldn't resist actually figuring out how to tie it. Thank you!

The cool thing with this explanation is, you understand how the knot works! You create yourself a loop/eye, which you use with the short end.
Nice video! 👍

The easiest way I've seen it taught. And I love how easily it's adjustable! Thank you!

I’m a newbie at knots. This is the most educational “bowline” tutorial video I’ve seen thus far. I got it with just my first attempt. Thank you!

I teach several ways to tie a bowline, i use a dif method, but this is the method that most recruits start using once they're shown. It really is the easiest and almost the fastest.

I've seen many different videos on how to tie the bowline, but your way was the most comprehensive example and easiest way for me to do it and learn thanks for the tip!!!

Thank you very much for finally simplifying this critical knot to the point that anybody should be able to remember it. 👍

I was going to compliment you on how well you executed the presentation of the bowline. It's the one knot that has flummoxed me time and time again, nearly as challenging as tying my shoes.

I also took note of the simplicity with which you made this knot's execution; the process will stick with me now. I've NEVER oriented the knot correctly on my first try - NEVER!

I then read some of the comments and realized I didn't just have a profound personal breakthrough, you really did a fantastic job with your presentation, and everyone agrees.

I was kind of annoyed it wasn't all about me, I didn't break through some personal challenge, it really was how well you presented it.
