#intermittentfasting #fasting #OMAD Get Kayla's book: The Laid Back Guide to Intermittent Fasting:

This video outlines how I lost 80 pounds with intermittent fasting and have been maintaining that weight loss since October of 2018.

The journey started in March of 2014 when I was tagged in some photos on Facebook and I didn't recognize myself. From there I went on a journey that eventually lead me to intermittent fasting and walking as a form of weight loss without having to restrict any foods or count calories.

On the plan that ended up working, I was eating whatever I wanted and lost about a pound a week on average when I went from 222 pounds to 157 pounds and then about 1/3 a pound a week on average when I went from 157 pounds to 142 pounds.

I really like the way you start explaining things right away instead of starting by telling us what your dog did that day or how you're sad about a breakup with your BF. Thanks for all the good info!

Tip 1: Change your mindset about food. Find a reason why you should fast daily.
Tell yourself "I dont need food to be happy or active... I always feel better when i do not eat..." If you are a Christian then you can add this: "It helps curb my desires and gives me more time to think and pray"

Tip 2: Intermittent Fasting is a must do. Forget about keto diet, etc cos they are temporary and not habitual... IF is habitual and sustainable. Do not fast less than 16 hours a day. I do 18 or 20 daily, and drink water regularly...

Tip 3: Meal prep is very important... Make sure you prepare your meals to last for at least 1 week, and they are easily microwaveable. It will stop you from eating unhealthy or unplanned meals. Ensure you add alot of veggies to your meals like carrots, beet, greens, ball peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc... They boost metabolic burning process and make your food rich...

Tip 4: Less cardio, more strength exercises... Cardio makes you exhausted when fasting, but strength makes you feel stronger and muscle building increases your daily metabolic burning rate...
I am 1-2 months in, already burnt more than 30% body fat, fitting into old clothes, feeling healthier, lighter and stronger...
CONSISTENCY IS KEY!!!
I wish you the best 👍

I started intermittent fasting about a week ago and went from 245lbs to 239lbs. But the thing is I do cardio everyday for 40 minutes or more, but I break it up into segments.Oh! And lots and lots of water, that's for sure

A few more days have passed and I'm already down to 237.6lbs. Cardio with it really does speed the process

*UPDATE*

I ended up getting down 203lbs

I do a 20:4 IF, been doing for 12 months. Best thing I've ever done. The positive results are too long to list, but the most important is my ability to focus and absorb information while reading. My awareness in the present is phenomenal compared to what I was like before 20:4.

I started IF on January 1st. I started at 266 pounds and am now 248. I do 16:8 and sometimes 18:6. I walk every day for 45 min. My plan is to do IF for 100 days. I will most probably do it for 365 or once I hit 170lbs. It works!

I have been doing the same thing (switching it up). OMAD, 16-8, 18-6, cheat day. But I did very little exercise at first. 3 months. 30 lbs off. Now I am doing more ab exercises, push ups, dips. Started at 220 lbs. shooting for 180-185. BTW I am a 54 year old male, so it will work in over 50! And it's FREE!

OMAD works! I am 68 years old and lost a little over 100 pounds in 9 months. No exercise. What I did was cut out sugar...all sugar...after three days of hell the addiction went away! I’m at my target weight now and find it hard not to preach...😂

I am 56 yrs old, I’m 6’2” and weigh 181#. Pants size are 30X34. I do OMAD every day and do not work out. In addition to OMAD, I do a water fast at least five days per month. I love the mental clarity and the ease of it all. Every 72 + hour fast equals a complete immune system reset. Can’t go wrong!

I’m fasting 18 hours, sometimes more, sort of doing keto, and walking everyday. I hope to lose at least 40 pounds 😅

Your videos really inspired me to start fasting. I started 40 days ago cold turkey 24 hour fast. I've lost 18 pounds so for. I love this way of eating and fasting. It really balances my hormones out. I had my thyroid removed last year and I'm in menopause 56 years old. Too much exercises stresses my body and my weight stalls but the perfect combination works with fasting. Thank you so much for sharing your story. Food is no longer a problem for me thanks to you.

Great accomplishment!! Intermittent fasting worked even for me and no one would have said that I had a weight problem. I started in May 2018 at about 152 and today I'm at 136. I did the same as this lady starting with what I had hope I could sustain. Since I had done the ketogenic diet for a number of year (but fell off that train), I had an advantage of knowing kind've what this would feel like. I started with 12:12 then over a month or two converged on 16:8 and on a few occasions 22:2. I did a 3 day water fast and later a 66 hour hard dry fast (not easy). A sore/scab that I had on my hand for a number of years mysteriously healed and it's been gone for over 2 months now. Mental clarity and energy is through the roof. For example, yesterday I started a 24 hour water fast at 3PM. I still haven't eaten but at 1PM today (22 hrs into the water fast) I swam at a Y - a total of 3, 500 yds then spent 15+10+5 minutes in a 180 degree sauna. As long as I drink water with some salt I'm ok. I'm now not going to eat and go another 24 hours.

Once you gradually work your way you start incidentally breaking barriers, both physical and mental. I encourage everyone to keep read, researching and watching youtube. You have to pick up some helpful tips. For example, if you're sodium (salt) deficiency, that increases insulin and you desire to eat. Also (found this out from a study just days ago), if you have a choice between restricted eating in a window that goes well into the night OR not restricting to a per-se window BUT never eating after 6PM, the latter is better. See Dr Satchin Panda interview by Dr. Rhonda Patrick.

Best of luck. I am in a new world and I don't see myself ever going back to how I lived for many years.
