Metformin has many side effects such as the possibility of lactic acidosis, muscle/shoulder pain, irritable digestive issues, diarrhea and bloating and stomach discomfort and even pain. Also as you take Metformin, your absorption of nutrients from food is reduced, leading to fatigue and a lack of B12. The best way is to control what you eat. A keto diet can be the way to get off Metformin. For example: I eat big Greek salads, grilled chicken, beef or oven baked fish. Most veggies as long as they’re not high in glucose like potatoes and parsnips. So stop eating carbs and sugary foods.
