I have been taking metformin for about 30 years and it works great for me. No side effects and I just turned 79, healthy and happy. I hope metformin also turns out to be the longevity drug it is being tested for...For me at 79, maybe it already is??

I took metforman for a year and did very little to lower my A1C but gave me severe diarrhea every 2-3 days. I cut back on my carbs and sugar and I dropped back into the normal range with my A1C.

Wonderful information...thank you so much. I was diagnosed with Type 2 four weeks ago and prescribed Metformin and Gliclazide. Also have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Would have loved the information you gave weeks ago. All I had was just a 5 minute phone call from my GP!
I've subscribed for more again for your time.

I took this stuff for over 20 years. It ruined my digestive system and my bowels. At one point I hardly dared leave the house unless I knew where the next toilet was. My blood sugar is at the same level it was 20 + years ago. After pleading with my doctor I am now on a different medication and am starting to get back to what I remember as normal.

I used Metformin for 8 months. It failed to reduce my sugar levels. It also created a very high blood pressure, 190/105. I now use Berberine instead.

Very informative. I've been taking metformin for 25 years and it has kept my blood sugars at an acceptable level.

I have been taking Metformin 1000mg slow release every day for the last two years. My HBAC1 reading went from 56 to 41 and has remained steady at this level ever since. I have reduced my sugar intake greatly but still eat bread, rice and pasta. When I took the standard version of Metformin it gave me severe stomach ache, but I've had no issues since taking the slow release type.

I've been on it since May 2021. My A1C dropped from 8.0 to 6. I take two tablets of 500 MG each, twice a day after eating yogurt or after my evening meal. No side effects whatsoever. I also take Berberine and CuraLin supplements, and with 2x daily glucose checks, my blood sugar varies from about 160 to as low as 90. Every person is different in terms of medication tolerances, so you must actively engage your primary physician to help you get on a regimen that works for you. There are other medications which would work much better, depending on your situations.

I'm on metforman and I hate it. I constantly get diaoreah and really painful stomach cramps. My doctor tried me on a different med, but although I felt fantastic on the new meds, they stopped me from sleeping at night. So it was back on the metforman for now. I hope he can help me find something better for me.

Thank-you very much for this video. Highly informative. The nurse at my clinic went into absolutely no detail about either Metformin or my diabetes!

I have been on Metformin and Glipizide for several years now. But I have been working on getting off of them through diet. Diabetes is a dietary decease cause by a diet overloaded with carbohydrates for years. Currently Medicine treats the symptoms of diabetes (high blood sugar) and not the cause (too many carbs being eaten). I try to keep to no more than 30 carbs per day or less. And am also going to be doing fasting as a way to rid my body of the access sugars. In this way diabetes can be reversed. This does not mean after you reverse it you go back to eating the way that got you into being a diabetic. But that your blood sugars will return to normal without the use of medications.
