DIY tips: How to use a string trimmer as a lawn edger

Use a trimmer as an edger to get a clean line where the grass meets sidewalks, driveway, garden beds, or fences.

You can also cut that edge you're cutting walking forward if you feel comfortable using your left hand to operate the trigger. As long as the head stays perpendicular to the ground and the line is rotating with tye grain of the grass. However you feel most comfortable. A lot of people prefer walking backwards it seems.
I refer to the forward method as walking the dog cus the trimmer is in front of you and the pole runs at about a 30 or so degree angle. Almost looks like you're walking a dog on a leash.
