I've been an electrician for about 47 years and I can attest that this works

I've been an electrician for about 9 years, and I've never seen this before. I can't wait to try it out that's awesome and I can't believe I've never thought that up haha. I love little magiverisms xD

I'm an apprentice and the other guys won't let me even explain that. They'll say it takes too much time to set.
They like to work hard, not smart.

So I had made the same discovery a few years back when amazon recommended a product that did this that goes on the end of you fish steel. They wanted almost $30, if I remember correctly. I thought, I can probably do the same thing but with zip ties.

After I tried and experimented with it a bit, I was hooked and have been teaching everyone the same thing. This trick works wonders with flex. It truly is surprising how well it works.

Generally, if I have trouble getting a tape through, then I break out the vacuum and tape a portion of a plastic bag and suck the line through, if the run is even partially clear, we can get the line through and pull back whatever we need.

Yes! I always pull this one out of the old trick bag and it always impresses people!

It's called an egg beater.

Lay down a layer of tape first so that the zip ties have a grippy surface to contact on both sides. This also allows for low force pulling like true tape or string.

Yes more of these please. Do you also have tips for rolling up wire or how not to roll up wire.

I saw you do video on this a while back. One of the best tricks yet. It definitely has saved me time and aggravation.

I've also taken a water bottle and cut some plastic off and rolled it up on the end to make a ball and it works pretty well on really long pulls

Ha love this, I’ve been doing this for decades and have passed it on to a few apprentices.

Another awesome trick if you can't get through that last bend, or flex transition someone kinked too much. Cut the receiver off an 11" long zip tie, and tape it just flat to the end of the fish tape leader. The flexible tip of the zip tie will pop out enough to grab with needle noise, or just bring the entire tape completely out with it damn near every time.

I like that solely because it extends the life of your tape. When I'm in that situation I just cut the head off and rebend a wider head. I'll have to give it a go

Good idea reminds of the ballon whisk on the end or glass fibre rod kit.

Let's check this out. It was barely demonstrated in the video but I would like to see another video demonstrating how this is actually use in Practical measures. If so it will bring many more ears to see a function the way you described

There used to be a " Speedy " leader that soldered on the end of a fish tape that I loved.

Yeah that works essentially for flex stranded #12 will work too but tie wraps are better
