3 tips to improve your V60 coffee!

I have an updated version of the first tip.

Use cafec filters. They have several benefits over the standard v60 filters

1. They actually fit the v60 (no need to do weird folds)
2. They don’t clog as easily.
3. They allow you to dial the flow rate of your filter to your specific coffee. They have multiple filter choices that all have different flow rates.

I don't know where you buy your v60 filters but the ones I get from Amazon here in Germany are tipically to narrow on the top - so your indet would make things worse...if I fold it so that the top is wider than the tip, it will fit. The way you do it on the other hand will result in even more air between the v60 and the filter

Can you really determine in a blind test a) which direction the filter was folded, and b) that the direction you recommended tastes actually better?

I think that W60 is a little bigger and fits the filters better? I ordered v60 and w60 and did the dry run of the filter.

I dont reaaallly get the second tip. I use the hario mugen. So you want me to either stir as soon as i have poured all the water in, or alternatively create much agitation when pouring, is that right? Thank you!

I just can’t deal with a paper that doesn’t fit correctly.I figured out the fold on my own and then moved over to Cafec T90 they fit the plastic V60’s perfectly and satisfactory fit on the ceramic with some adjustments.Did the old Hario papers fit correctly?I used flat bottoms exclusively for 8 years and only recently moved over so I missed the old papers.It seems like Hario needs to make a proprietary paper that’s correct.

I don't see how folding your filters is a tip. It's just literally part of the basic instructions on the filter papers. Are you patronising your audience or should I question your competence?
