I see it more as a warning than a threat. He wasn’t being hostile towards Jake when saying it. It was most likely a warning that humans will return one day

Love how Parker Selfridge casually walks up, hands in pockets, delivers his statement and doesn't event flinch when knives and guns are being pointed at him.

interesting how many cut scenes show him as a more complex character than most of the film shows him to be

He walks up to Jake and says this isn't over while he's probably holding on to the Soul drives of Quaritch and the other recoms in his pocket already seeding the RDA's return...

Selfridge didn't want war

And he knew that everything they fought for wouldn't last forever, so he gave Jake a warning of the inevitable

“You know this isn’t over”
James Cameron: Of course not. We’ve got to have money.

I love how obvious it is they spliced it in when the foreboding music becomes uplifting.

"You know this isn't over."
I guess that the destruction of the Hometree impacted him enough to not to call to the war against Na'vi (even though the damage that was already done left him quite powerless to control the situation), so this seems more likely a headsup rather than a threat. I wonder that when we next time see Selfridge, what kind of person he is... changed or same.

the deleted script had so much depth to the movie, and yes even though this guy was a shameless corporate CEO, he didn't want all this waring, he did want to scare the Navi a bit and escalate it because they were being so much trouble, but in the origional script Quaritch manipulated him and then couped him to take complete control of the entire operation.
but for some reason the director keeps cutting out the good story bits because it becomes too hard to see who is good and who is evil. so much potential, so much cut.

"All you had to do was tell them we wanted a rock, Sully. Did you even mention it?"

In all fairness Na'vi are fighting a losing battle.
Interplanatery warfare has a certain rule: If you rule the orbital, you rule the planet.

Should Erthans colonise the farside of Pandora, Jake would have no way of stopning them.
And whose to say colonists won't meet like minded Na'vi?

This is foreshadowing the RDA returning and obliterating the forest

Ive always hoped to see a Selfridge redemption arc. It’s kinda set up already since he let Jake back into his avatar to warn the Omaticaya, and his straight up reaction to the attack on the home tree. You can tell he didn’t want war…

And to think, so much death and destruction could’ve been avoided if he wasn’t obsessed with chasing tail.

I remember going to cinema when Avatar was re-released to prepare myself for Avatar The Way of Water. I thought that, as it was a remaster, I thought there would be new deleted scenes added to the film (like the school one). Unfortunately, there was not until this very scene. I literally became the Leo DiCaprio meme, me whistling while pointing at the screen saying “Hold up, this is new!”

It’s not often you see a movie or story where the good guys lose in the end. It’s a good reminder of how cruel the world can be.
