i do like that the movie had the balls to be like "ok but for real these stupid aliens with sticks don't really stand a chance against an actual futuristic military encroachment" and the 'war' turns into a resistance.

Fun fact: the ISV uses Matter-Antimatter fusion engines which produce a exhaust plume of high energy photons so powerful they are a million times brighter than a wielding arc and stretch for 30 KM (according to wiki). So these engines could probably make a pretty big hole at max power.
