Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water follows the journey of Jake Sully and Neytiri's newfound family. Despite their best efforts to keep their family together, a familiar threat resurfaces and forces Jake, Neytiri, and their four children to flee to the land of the Metkayina clan.

Avatar: The Way of Water's plot will be a fully-encapsulated, standalone narrative, as will the other sequels, but will also be part of a meta-narrative that extends across Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar 3, 4 and 5.

When you watch the deleted scenes of Avatar, Parkers character actually gets a lot more development. He never wanted things to escalate that much and even Quaritch threatens him at the end. So I think the last scene is a genuine warning uttered from him to Jake

I was hoping that some of the deleated Szenes where now shown. The Attack of the Avatar's or when quadratisch tells Parker "you're a long way from earth" would have changed if apperance even more

I saw Avatar Remastered yesterday and when this scene happened, I wasn't sure if it's new or if I just didn't notice it before. But it definitely seemed new to me. Yeah... Now I know. Makes sense with the release of the sequel in December. Maybe gets the people a bit more hyped up to know that the humans will come back.

I really thought the new scene was of pregnant neytiri and Jake at the river.

I think Neytiri also pulled the knife on Parker and stepped in front of Jake because she was probably protecting him as well. I thought that was a really cool little scene and although it was only like 10 secs long lol it still changed the tone of the movie and the series immensely because we’re going from this end feeling like this is the end of the story to us now seeing and feeling like there’s more to come and this isn’t the end and the RDA will be back. I was not expecting that scene and when it happened I was so shocked it almost felt like it didn’t happen lol

It could possibly be him referring to conflict between earth and pandora not being over, as In not the RDA and him specifically but the conflict in general not being over.

I watched Avatar like at least 30 times and I just went to see it in the theaters and I didn't even realize that scene was added

I just watched the Imax. Still an emersive experience. Did they remove the matting with the tales scene?

Cameron already confirmed that the humans would be returning to Pandora in the sequel. Though the scene added was a nice touch to set the mood for the next film.

Its not over means more humans and rda will come. Not personal bit whole conflict will be continued and much expanded

Why wouldn't they re-release the extended cut with this added scene?

Over the years I always preferred the theatrical cut. It is the one with the most effective pacing and structure. The theatrical cut is the one that demolished records, not any of the extended versions.

The extended scenes all ultimately just bloated the movie and threw off the pacing of the film. The theatrical cut is the most balanced.

This added bit of dialogue was just there to tee up the sequel a bit more directly, and I actually really like it as an added moment.

He's like "you know, we'll be gone a while, but those fuckers (the company) will be back". Like He's sorry with all that mess and he's warning them.

So ultimately, the only change is "sequel baiting", which I say because had this scene been in the original, thats what we would have called it.

I didn’t notice until I checked out the scene on the Original Version on Disney Plus.
