WHAT IS CANCER:
As some of you may already know or have experienced, cancer has a huge impact on many people’s lives. Its thought that 1 in 2 people develop some form of cancer in their lifetime and there are over 300,000 cancer cases newly diagnosed every year in the UK.

It can affect anyone of any age, but it’s more common in those over the age of 50. The most common types are breast, lung, prostate and bowel cancer, but there are actually over 200 different kinds and they all have different symptoms and can affect the body in different ways.

So what exactly is cancer? Cancer is a disease where genetic changes in your body can cause a cell or multiple cells to grow and multiply more than they’re meant to. The cells grow in an abnormal way which can lead to something called a tumour.

And the way that these cells change in a tumour can sometimes also then disrupt core body systems, such as your immune system, hormones and blood, leading to other problems.

In some cases the tumour can also start to spread to other parts of the body, and this is known as metastases. These become secondary cancers and this stage of cancer can be harder to treat. This was a simplified explanation but it’s important for you to have this basic understanding so everything else makes sense later in the video.

So with cancer having the potential to cause so many problems and being so common, it’s super important to know what signs and symptoms to look out for, and how you can help get diagnosed sooner rather than later. Studies have shown that people who get diagnosed sooner have better survival rates, a better quality of life, and better care experiences.

Once again please remember that in this video I’ve gone through the most common signs, but there are more, so always speak to your healthcare professional if you ever feel something with your body isn’t right or you notice a change in how your body works, and don’t just leave it. Also remember that having any of these symptoms doesn’t necessarily mean that you have cancer, but they’re red flags you need to get checked out. If the cause is not cancer and it’s another underlying problem, at least it can be investigated and treated sooner. And if it does end up being cancer, catching it early can make all the difference.

As a woman, you go to any doctor with these symptoms, you get treated like you’re hysterical. A few of these symptoms are common with Lyme disease.

I have been very ill for quite a while. I was seeing a pain doctor, internist & cardiologist. I stay in severe chronic pain 24/7, I have times of severe nausea, trouble sleeping, eating & there’s many times I can’t go potty for a week or more at a time, times when I throw up constantly, bad headaches, times when I have a hard time breathing, coughing, & feel like something is stuck in my throat. This year, I went from 120-125 pounds down to a little over 60 pounds, lost all my muscles & have no fat at all on my body. It began with staying extremely tired, sweating as if I just got out of the shower, began having trouble walking & fell over a dozen times. Got up one night to go pee & for no reason fell so hard that I passed out, & when I came to, my head was hurting so bad & I grabbed my head & blood was pouring from my head & was covering my hair, face, clothes, carpet & spattered on the wall, the side of the bed; I was drenched in it & had a big dent in my skull! Most of these things started happening abruptly & I became bedridden & my doctors advised me to contact Hospice. I have been given a moderate amount of medication, but not near enough to stop the pain or even enough to make me comfortable. I wake up all through the night weeping in pain & it’s as if they don’t care. I have talked to my Nurse, Hospice Doctor with no results! My neck, shoulders, entire back, hips & extremities hurt so bad that I want to scream. I asked my doctors about being tested to see why I feel like I’m literally dying & they said I was too weak to endure the necessary tests!
Any advice please; I desperately need help!! I’m allergic to 99% of medications. I can handle Oxycodone, & a Soma every 6 hours, but with the 20 mg. tablets; they don’t hardly faze the pain. I don’t know what to do!!😢 I’m suffering & lost all ability to even take care of myself. I was very active prior to this, helped others, visited people in nursing homes & was there if my loved ones needed me. I’m literally miserable now!!! I don’t want to be a burden on my family & friends. I would really appreciate any advice & I definitely welcome all prayer!

I am afraid that I may have cancer, I feel pain in my chest, I have acid reflux, my back hurts, and I feel something is stuck in my throat, doctor asked me to do some parasite tests, and came back negative, today I have an appointment with my doctor, it's either the acid reflux hurt some nerves or like that, or I have cancer 🥵

I need to educate myself on finding a good doctor. The doctors that I have gone to and still do, don’t display much concern and always feels like they’re rushing you. At least that’s the experiences I’ve had. I need to change that.
