WHAT DID WE THINK OF PART 2??? I do have problems with some of the storylines and I will do videos on them, but there were a lot of things I quite enjoyed! What do you think?

As an absolute Polin Fan, I have to say that I am kinda heartbroken.

I think that the first part of the season was done very well. You had the excitement, the longing, jealous-chaos-Colin and the most beautiful first kiss I have ever seen! All together with the incredibly hot carriage scene

(which WE ALL replayed like 10000times😂)

and then we get to the second part. And boy oh boy, where do I even start?

Let’s start with episode 5:
We finally got to the incredibly anticipated love scene.
I love that they changed the location, and it actually didn’t happen in Colin’s bedroom at Bridgerton house. They had this entire house for themselves, and the writers could’ve written this love scene so magically, sweet and spicy because they had the perfect surrounding for it!
Polin could’ve taken their time, as it happened in the book
(even though they were at Bridgerton house with the risk of someone finding out what they were doing!!)

Instead, we got a very short, non-realistic, and at it’s best DECENTLY ROMANTIC first time, which lasted no longer than 3 What the hell happened? Also, the way this was shot, was soooo weird. Pen gets undressed, and then Colin tells her to lay down, without even loosing a single word about her breasts? Guys I’m sooo sorry. But book Colin is OBSESSED with Pen’s cleavage and shows it in every possible way…what the hell happened to that? Also…we heard so many times: mirror this, and mirror that…but all we got was a quick glimpse while SHE was getting undressed, without even mentioning anything about the actual mirror. So, why did you use it in the first place, if you are not going to mention the book-scene where he talks to Pen about actually DOING IT in front of a mirror while cupping her??? Afterwards, everything else happens very quickly, and feels almost “synthetic”

I was hoping for sooo much more. In the book storyline, their first time is tender, sweet, romantic and passionate. They get vulnerable in front of each other, confessing their love and being true to themselves. We have a funny moment where she asks him about how he thought she was going to look like…and let’s say it: the foreplay didn’t last 2 seconds as in the series 🙄

The shot ends with them giggling, which is cute, and continues with us having to see another 5 million storylines before going back to our MAIN COUPLE laying together?
It felt so off, as if those scenes did not actually belong together…

Let’s hop over to episode 6 and talk about the elephant in the room:
Our Lady Whistledown reveal. We had so much potential. They could have gone like 20.000 routes about this. Instead, we see Pen going to the printers shop, without any clue about Colin following her. It would have made sooo much sense if we would have gotten at least a little snippet of Colin following her in a carriage similar to the book storyline. It would have made this plot so much better!!! The angst and excitement about this imminent relevelation!! Are you kidding me?? Let’s continue..pen leaves the printers shop, and in absolute Casper the Ghost fashion we see Colin appear out of nowhere…like…okay???

Then we go straight to Episode 7:
We start off with Colin accusing Penelope, because she’s Lady Whistledown.
What i really appreciate, is Luke’s acting. You can feel his hurt and pain, but
afterwards, everything gets confusing and disconnected….
We see Colin being upset (understandably),
and get to the wedding….then somehow he isn’t upset anymore??

In the following shots we get to one of the most beautiful and emotional parts of this entire season: Pen walking down the aisle,
all together with their wedding declarations.
I will admit that I cried during this scene because I really do love them as a couple, and know that WE ALL waited so many years to finally see this moment.

We have a beautiful, romantic and incredible first dance……
Sounds perfect, right??!!! Well well dear readers…
Of course have to destroy everything because we have our lovely queen breaking into the party demanding that everybody should go home…well done charlotte….well done 😑

Colin gets upset once more because Pen tells him that she will not stop being Lady Whistledown…. In response, he is sleeping on the couch…..a perfect first wedding night….don’t you agree?? In an effort to comfort her, Eloise embraces her, telling her meanwhile that she can’t to anything to help her??? Excuse me what? She wrote that issue in the first place to save YOUR BOOTY, and now, you can’t even try to talk to Colin in Pen’s favor?

Episode 8:
Why why why could we not get our queen Charlotte seeing them the next day, let’s say while the entire Bridgerton family was enjoying an afternoon tea at Bridgerton house??? 😔
It would have made perfectly sense, and given Polin the possibility of having a wonderful, beautiful and romantic first night as husband and wife….similarly as in the book, he could have put his anger to the side, because his love for her was so much stronger…..something that I’m sure many of us would have appreciated.

The next day we see them struggle due to a very cold and distant Colin. What the hell happened to all the “Love” you feel for Pen??? Why don’t they get a moment to sit down, and talk about their feelings ??!
That would have brought sooo much to the table and put up a beautiful meaning to their story as Friends and lovers. Instead we get the same old upset and silent Colin. 🫥

After all of this turmoil, the writers decided to go back to a little snippet of something that actually happened in the book storyline: Cressida’s blackmail plot. 💰
First of all: What the hell was the point in Colin’s conversation with Cressida? We could have skipped that part completely knowing that Cressida IS the villain. Nothing could have prevented them from her being mean. It was only a matter of time…

Meanwhile, we have to endure the endless threesome between Ben, Tilly and Paul that appears literally almost as often as we hear the name Bridgerton in this show…. Wouldn’t it have been enough showing us that there was a relationship going on between those three ONCE?
Why did we take so much time from the main and most important storyline, to give it to sooo many subplots that just don’t make any sense??
(Don’t get me even started on how much time we wasted on Cressida and her entire family)

Speaking of: since we took so much time for said subplots, we have only 20 minutes left of this entire season for our MAIN LADY WHISTLEDOWN PLOT……Great… needless to say that the Lady Whistledown reveal felt rushed, such as the other pivotal plotlines, and could have been portrayed so much better. I would have expected a confident version of Penelope, revealing to the ton who she truly is, embracing her identity and coming to her own….showing everyone HOW much they underestimated her.
And what about Colin ?? Why the hell was HE not the one holding her hand instead of Portia??!! He was standing somewhere completely different making us the viewers believe that he was still mad at her, and somehow after her announcement he hops out of nowhere, telling her that that was bloody, brilliant, and everything is sunshine and rainbows because he read some letters??? Sir?? I’m confused…deeply confused….The Epilogue was written nicely, but like the last time we got a way too short and cut off love scene…😣
Loved the part about the babies which were incredibly cute ❤️
Meanwhile, instead of sticking to the importance of Colin’s journals as in the book, we see one of them for a brief second and that’s it…we get their final kiss which was very sweet.

I want to add, that the actors deserve all the credit and love, because they did an amazing job portraying what they were told to by the script, so I don’t mean to send any hate to any single one of them….

This was just my true and honest opinion as a Polin-Superfan who was eager to see their Book-Storyline come to life.

I want to end this very long dissertation, by mentioning those scenes and snippets I really loved: The scene of Colin defending Pen was truly remarkable, and it was nice to finally see someone stand up for her, declaring her importance so publicly. That was a full circle moment that brought home sooo much and set those allegations we heard in seasons 1 and 2 as “Colin is no more your friend, than I am Catherine the great” finally to rest.
I also love what they did with the Violet and Marcus plotline. It’s a nice and seemless continuation of what we’ve previously seen in the queen Charlotte spinoff. Violet deserves happiness, and I hope that we will get a continuation of that storyline in the future. To end this off, I loved how they redeemed Portia’s character ark, and had this beautiful Mother-Daughter duo, showing us even more clearly, that Pen has got soo much from Mama Featherington herself. Seeing how she finally perceived her daughter, and saw her true value, was a joy, and put a happy ending to this storyline.

To be honest I skipped over the 3some part. Not into that. I cried several times also. The kind of love that Colin and Pen have is every woman’s dream. He was mad at her but he defended her. Can’t wait for the next season which I heard won’t be until 2026. 😢 Too long to wait!!!❤

Too many side stories and less about the main couple lol. It’s like the writers forgot who the season’s story was about in part 2. I also didn’t like that they cut off all the sweet moments after Colin found out she’s whistledown. Like despite the betrayal, he never wanted to leave her side and was always lusting over xD he was in definition a hungry man for his wife. Meanwhile, all we got is him brooding xD

last 2 episodes had too many story lines and overkill of diversity inclusion. No need. Just stick closely to the book. I wanted to see more intimate scene of Penelope and Colin since they were the focal couple this season. The last two episodes their intimate scenes seemed cut short and rushed. Don't do that! It's based on a romance book. Also, throwing Benedict 3some in our faces was a HUGE turn off and hurt his character for his turn with Sophia.

I wanted more romance between Colin and Penelope. On the other seasons the main couple they had the focus on them. In this one there was too much going on. Colin sister getting married right after them. Then you had Benedict that had more romance and sex than Colin and Pen. Then Anthony and Kate announcing they were having a baby and still so loving over each other.
I mean I still loved the show a lot. I just wanted more on Colin and Pen because from the first season they were the ones I couldn’t wait to see get together. I just wanted that sweet romance for the two. I love how their characters kiss. Wanted more of that. So I pray more attention will be on them in season 4.

I like season 3 but I didn't like how they handled Penelope's secret and the lack of talking between Colin and Penelope. The best scene that had the energy I was hoping for from the carriage and mirror scenes was their discussion on the street at night in episode 7. The frustration and tension added to the passion between them and it felt like they were venting - many of the points addressed were actually from the book's carriage scene, in which Colin found out about Penelope being Lady Whistledown and tries to convince her to allow Cressida to be ruined as Lady Whistledown. I looked into the writers for this season and a few of them are newer to writing, some had the episode they wrote for as their first writing credit ever which I think is because they were brought in by the new showrunner.

We learned more about other characters than we saw character development for the main couple, with Nicola stealing the show as Penelope. I don't get the change of Michael to Michaela and the love triangle (potentially) is weird to me, they literally meet and Francesca is immediately flustered. I hope Benedict's next but as of part 2 he seems aimless, professing his want to love but rejecting Tilly which makes no sense since he claims that he wants to love and be loved. What was the point of them being together this season?

The last two episodes weren't that great because they did not show a lot of The couple. Too many side plots. But otherwise part one was perfect- It was so good that I rewatched it so so so many times... The chemistry between these two is incredible and the relationship is so beautiful. They truly made for each other and They are soulmates ...
Episode five and six were great.... But then seven and eight were not focused on Colin and Penelope. That's all we wanted more scenes. I really loved all of their scenes, whatever we got. Instrumental theme for the couple is beautiful!! My Heart burst ❤

This season wasn’t the best... (far from it, actually) the only aspect I truly enjoyed was the Featherington women coming together 😢

I enjoyed part 2. The anticipation was worth it. Nic and Luke brought them to life beautifully. Luke in particular flexed his incredible acting skills. I did spy that Colin fantasized about Pens breasts but failed to touch them or compliment them. I can only assume Nic might had not been comfortable with that approach which I respect. Can't wait to see more of the actors in future projects.

Loved your observations on season 3, very on point. I’ve loved the stories from season 1 and 2, but Colin and Penelope has turned out to be my favorite. And yes, the scene with Pen and Lady Danbury just made me smile, of course she knew!! I too would have preferred more of the main couple as well, but I think most of the side plots were needed as they related to the couple or were to set up possible coming seasons storylines that will most likely stray a bit more from the books. Essentially, the side plots with Cressida, Lady Featherington and Lady Whistledown had to be flushed out to resolve not only hanging ends, but to showcase Pen/Whistledown/the status of women in the Regency period etc, although putting some emphasis on what was really happening at the time would make sense, but ultimately Bridgerton is more about suspending reality, and supporting the romantic, which isn’t a bad thing. Thank you for this video!

I’ve really enjoyed your analyses—You’ve been very even-handed in pointing out weak points in the storytelling while still giving praise where praise is due! I don’t expect everyone to love everything, but as a fan some of the really hateful takes on this season have felt personally wounding (weird, I know; I’ll get over it). Anyhow, I enjoyed your balanced and thoughtful coverage. Thank you.

After Kanthony passion and Queen Charlotte season I have to say I am disappointed with this season 3… The Polin sex scene lacks completely of romance, passion, no tension I felt nothing… I felt huge difference compared to the other seasons:with Kanthony and Daphne and the Duke I was intrigued and aroused 😅 But with Polin… nothing 🙅🏻‍♀️ worst season for me… sorry for my unpopular opinion

I liked the season because of Polin. There were so many cute moments that I can rewatch again and again. The subtle acting of Colin with eyes. Is so much romantic and peaceful. I can have an whole Polin story without even including others. It was Polin's season, and I can't help but enjoy both of them. The frequency of declaration of love is so good. Its not just once, but thrice. The season was good balance of romantic scenes. And i guess they purposely let us crave for more POLIN scene

The break from season 1 to 2 killed the story for me. In many parts it was boring. When watching other seasons I’ve gobbled up the content but not this time. I would have liked to see more romance between Penelope and Colin. The series are doing well so why not make a season on each sibling. I would have liked to see an entire season on Francesca without the distraction it caused this time from Polin’s romance.

i feel the same as you in everything. but i feel it was so sad that cressida was just doomed. why build up her charecter just to bring her down again. it was sad i think pen should have helped her with him she was almost engaged with i forgot his name. they seem to have things in common that they hated their families so it would have been perfect. or she could have wrote something i wistledown who would have made cressida drop her threats

I know I’ve been harsh to Portia on some of your other videos, but I was pleasantly shocked that she has a full-on redemption arc. I have no problem admitting I’m wrong. I don’t know if I 100% buy it, I don’t know if it’s completely realistic/believable, but I get that they’re going for healing of this generational trauma and I can at least be satisfied with that. 😌

Also, P.S., what is it with the Featheringtons getting the next solution to their financial problems at the last minute every season? It literally happened again with Pen’s reveal as the excuse! 😂

7:54 hilarious...that desperate look of the tiny baby girl all dressed in yellow butterflies..with ginger hair...crying out into the camera: "HEEELP I am going to be the next Pen..all dressed in Yellow that doesn't suit my hair colour!!! " HEEELP!! This is brilliant acting, BABY ! :)
