if Colin doesnt end up with Penelope even after the LW reveal, i will absolutely riot. I know they're endgame, but i cant stomach Penelope not getting her Colin in the end. as a bigger girl, i need to see this on screen. So im so happy Nicola emphasized it was her choice to be more exposed/nude on screen to show her love for her body, her shape, and her own empowerment. i need to see these on screen so it can be known that us bigger girls can absolutely end up with the Colin Bridgertons!!!

There are two things I haven't seen anyone talking about and I really want to know what people think.
1. When they are dancing, Lady Tilly takes the lead, even going so far as to put Benedict in the woman's position. The rest of their dance, he is doing the women's choreography.

2. I don't think Colin was quite as "rakish" during his travels as he lets on. He makes joking, flirtatious allusions to his rakishness to the ladies ("If I told you, i'd be forced to marry you.", or "If I told you, you'd swoon.") and with the men, who are exchanging ribald tales of their exploits, he says things like "There were many late nights", and the men respond with "Yes but what did you DO on those late nights?" Then during the other conversations with the men, who continue to push him for details of his exploits, he vaguely references"the contessa" but it is clear he hasn't specified what, if anything, he did with "the contessa".
What if Penelope is the only one who immediately saw through all his pretenses, which she documented in her pain and anger as Lady Whistledown, talking about "his mask" and whether he even knows if his new personality is real or not, , and his story about swanning around Europe were all made up to sell his new persona?
In his journal, he talks about beautiful women in Paris, and touching freckles, but feeling very alone. Maybe that was all it was, or maybe that was just for his writing and made up as well.

Which just leaves the brothel visits. These annoyed me greatly and this next part is pure speculation. If his European vacation "player" schtick is fake, maybe proximity to Pen is what sends him seeking "relief" or distraction, because he doesn't think he can/should want her, because they are "friends", and/or because society has expectations of him.
Their first interaction, upon his return, Pen is curt with him, because of what he said last season, and he is hurt and confused. Brothel visit number one, which includes a very specific close up of Colin's hand squeezing a generously thick thigh. Their second interaction, he is clearly attracted to her, he chases after her, complements her dress, and her appearance, insists she is no spinster, and finds out why she is so upset with him and he realizes he f'ed up big time. Third interaction is his apology and offer of assistance, with a clear declaration of "just friends". And immediately before the first lesson, he has to fortify himself against proximity to Pen, while actively encouraging her to flirt in front of him, by going to the brothel first. His third trip to the brothel, occurs when he is out with the other men, and he is struggling with, and finally acknowledging, his feelings for Pen, and the fact that he is about to lose her forever, and he can't go through with it. He actually looks ashamed and embarrassed, as the women perform for him. Sort of a "What the hell am I doing here?"

I'm also considering that the brothel trips are an attempt to convince himself, or everyone else, that he is a rake, and it is part of his performance and "mask". His last brothel visit when he can't go through with it; his break with the other men when he asks them about how exhausting it is always pretending that what is most important, isn't; his getting drunk and snapping at Violet; all happens when he can't keep the facade going any longer.

So those are the things I'm hoping others have thoughts about. Sorry so long winded.

I kinda want the Queen to end up hiring "lady Whistledown". She did say she'd be a valuable ally to the crown.

I have this trouble with the concept that Eloise and Penelope were like some perfect friends. They're friends for a long time, but even in season one they had a fight. And it was about Penelope being stressed about something that Eloise NEVER ASKED HER ABOUT. And Eloise didn't even translate how the thing she said that was mean was actually a desperation about her interest. Then, in season 3, Eloise pretends SHE NEVER HEARD ABOUT!!

It seems like they’re building up to Benedict’s story for next season but I feel like Eloise should be next.
