Penelope looks so beautiful in this scene.
She is a very strong character. As a woman she is raising her voice as whistledown. I think penelope is an inspiration of her time. Especially in this season, she is defending her second identity, she is fighting for who she is & she is able to go on stage to reveal herself as LW ready to accept all the consequences.

Colins proud smile and stareing at her lovingly when shes delivering her speech is just so cute he was proud of his wife he was thinking yep i have been such a idiot shes always been my pen time to say sorry i bet they did a lot of making up on thier honeymoon 😂 the one thing he should of done is not be a idiot husband and steped in to the middle with her and held on to her hand showing penolepe with a proud smild showing people that if you are going to shout at my wife you have to get through me first

The show really redeems itself in Part 2. I absolutely love and adore Pen's monologue, and the show's reoccurring message about accepting one's identity was just perfect!!🥰 I love how they changed Lady Whistledown's significance in comparison to the books because she became such an integral part of the Bridgerton narrative because she narrates the show :DD

This scene is even better with the audio description turned on. When she gets to the part about everyone being worthwhile despite their weaknesses it says she makes eye contact with Colin and he smiles and nods encouragingly. So for everyone saying he didn’t support her until after the queen did, he was supporting her from the sidelines and never stopped loving her.

Penelope went from barely having anything to gaining everything. I cannot wait to see how her and her family play out in the series.

The saddest part is that all of this was mainly because of one thing that stemmed from Penelope’s life: abuse. In a real way, abuse led to this, which is why you really should treat your children right the first time. If not, they’ll end up doing things that won’t look well for them in the long run.

Mad that Netflix squandered Nicola’s Emmy momentum by releasing Bridgestone too late. Nicola would have been nominated for sure. She was the bonafide STAR of this season and commanded the screen with so much range. I hope she gets a push in 2025… 🙄
