Born and raised in New Orleans and have never in my life heard a cockroach called palmetto bugs. Also most food in New Orleans is creole not Cajun. U don’t get real Cajun food unless you go out in Acadiana and other outer parishes. Other than that good video.

A huge problem you left out is the inherent and continuous crooked politicians that plague the city. Since the 1800’s, you can find politics being connected to crime, mafia, etc.

The high car insurance comes from the saturation of ambulance chasing attorneys. Every five feet in Louisiana there's another Morris Bart or Gordon McKernan billboard.

I live in New Orleans and NEVER heard of a palmetto bug ever. Creole food is served in New Orleans, Cajun food is in the bayou areas. We are also called the northern most Caribbean city and we move at our own pace that being said I've witnessed city workers across the country watching the guy in the hole work.. The shoe scam happens on Bourbon Street where gullible tourist are.

As a resident of New Orleans( oh btw I never heard a local say N'awlins).there are some legitimate issues such as the crime rate and the pot holes, but the spicy food? Well most restaurants are cognizant of this so they normally don't add as much spice, especially in the tourist areas. As for the weather, well all southern cities are hot 🔥 and humid., trust me Miami is unbearable in the summer.

I lived in New Orleans for four years. There's plenty of non-spicy food, that's ridiculous.

I can see how you might not like Mardi Gras with just three hours at the party: the noise is tremedous and maybe you stepped in vomit. But if you stay for the month and there is a parade or a party every other day, and then every day, and then three or four a day, until at last the Indians come out in their finery and the drums thunder down the street and the Wild Man is shouting you-don't-know-what and then Zulu rolls, and out of the air your friend pulls a coconut decorated with a face and hair - and then you barely make it downtown to greet Rex ... then, my friend, you will know there is no place else like this on the good Lord's planet.

New Orleans has a very high murder rate, and it's sad. Gangs are a big problem there. It makes New Orleans look really bad and it makes it hard for some people to live there.

I am from New Orleans. Grew up right in the French Quarter in the middle of everything. That being said, New Orleans is a great place to visit but living here is something altogether different. Come to New Orleans on vacation and enjoy it. You don't want to move here. Living here full time is not always that great, just like anywhere else the place has its problems.
