I've been training for over 10 years and i feel like stretching after the work out is a good way to reduce muscle soreness.
I can really see the difference when I don't stretch.

It still feels good. Waking up after a hard workout that morning stretch is amazing.

Thanks! I am devote stretcher and this video affirms my suspicion that it does little to nothing except make me feel good about stretching.

I do a squat/leg day, then bench/upper, and then dead/back day.
The reason stretching and in particular yoga helps me a lot, especially between that back and leg day is that the stretching reduces my tightness as opposed to my soreness especially for my back.

3 weeks ago I woke up with an extremely stiff neck, my muscles went into spasm and I couldn't look in any direction apart from straight. For the last 6 days a doctor recommended me to go to a physiotherapist, in each session the physio starts by sticking pads (TENS Machine) to my upper traps, then using ultrasound machine to warm up my muscles, followed by stretching and strength exercises. In these last 6 days I have seen a significant improvement in my neck that I thought I would never be able to move. I will recommend any one who reads this to seriously consider starting a stretching routine.

yes, stretching correctly helps. over stretching/straining will injure you more.
so guess it depends on how you do it.

i believe that many people have been told that stretching reduces soreness, therefore the placebo effect helps them believe that the soreness is lessened. but this is just my opinion

Me personally, I see flexibility as an important facet to the whole mobility and functional strength aspect of fitness and health. That, and regardless of whether stretching does or doesn't have the benefits people may believe it does, stretching before a workout gets me in the mindstate and (the way I do it) warmed up to tackle the said workout, and afterwards helps me to cool back down and does help with not being a cripple after leg day. Ultimately? I enjoy it and enjoy being flexible, so not planning on stopping any time soon

I absolutely love your videos, ever since 2016. People should look more at YOUR videos than those fake "how to get abs in 20 minutes" videos. I love how you include scientific research and trusted articles, it really shows that what you're talking about is true shit and truly works. I hope you're doing great and I'm looking forward to see more from you in this bulking season. You really teached me the basics and beyond and I couldn't have been as good at fitness as I am today without you, your knowledge and you sharing your knowledge in an entertaining way (drawings ay 😉😂) much love from me, you are always the one I recommend to my friends who wants to get into fitness

Stretching post exercise definitely I'll end up waking up stiff which definitely makes my muscles feel sore to use.
So if it doesn't directly reduce DOMs, it definitely helps rebalance your muscles post contraction and shortening after exercise

Love the video as always, and in general, I somewhat agree with the premise of the outcome. My biggest issue is this: muscle soreness is a very subjective thing. Meaning, doms can vary from person to person. As far as I know, there isnt a way to quantify doms properly. Pain tolerance could have an effect on the outcome of perceived soreness. Did these studies have a proper scientific way to determine soreness, or did they just ask the participants on how sore they felt? Keep up the great videos and I love the ability you have in explaining complicated topics in terms everybody can understand. Its something I try to do with my clients everyday. Keep it up!!
