I think it’s hilarious actually considering a brand new iPad mini just for a toddler or young child to use. Kids are notorious for being absent-minded and not really taking care of things, especially sensitive expensive electronics. Just give them some old iPad mini or one of those older iPhones many people have sitting in some drawer going unused.

I think that ipad air would be a good choice for most of people, but it's also true that if you are able to give up some more modern features, to spend less, then the basic ipad is perfect considering also that the basic memory for both ipad models is 64gb

I’ll stick with my 8th gen for a couple years since the prices on new Apple releases in my country went really really high this time.
I just want to say that the budget iPad is by far the tablet for the most people and you are getting 85 to 90% of the functionality you get on the higher end models.
I’ve been using the 8th gen with the Apple Pencil for note taking, digital art, animation, reading, studying, gaming, video editing and photo editing, music production, etc.
And it really feels that is not an issue for it to manage al that stuff, so, really, for a normal user and even a lot of pro users, the budget iPad is a great value.

I upgraded from a iPad Air one yes had that thing that Long finally it wasn’t efficient anymore very laggy and glitchy. Got the iPad 9th gen budget one couldn’t be happier does everything I need it for play games very well overall all good enough for me . I recommend it if you don’t mind the classic look the simple speaker and lower camera resolution and of course want to saving money then get it I got at Walmart for 299.99 Amazon had it for as sale price as well . . No matter what iPad you end up going with it will be a great experience and a great device (some better than others but still good). I own the new iPad mini 6 and I absolutely love it, the size is perfect for me and it is a powerful device. It all comes down to which one fits you the best but each one will show you just how amazing apple devices are.

iPad Air 4 64GB + Magic Keyboard for me, even coming from a 120hz iPad Pro 10.5. You'd be amazed how little storage you actually need and how the MK transforms your iPad into laptop. I'd choose it over the 11 M1 without the MK.

To me the best Ipad is the Ipad air 3, super light feeling and thin. The new tablets out can't match it for that. I hope the one I have never dies out.
