I recently bought a third-party pencil, works great on iPads with both 1gen and 2gen pencil support.
Also recommend buying a screen protector for using with these pencils. Just in case

I have a $25 stylus that looks almost identical to the Apple Pencil (but has the charging port on the side) and I love it. I only use mine for digital planning on my iPad, and personally, I think if you don’t intend on using your iPad for heavy drawing/art related tasks, then you don’t need the real Apple Pencil.

Honestly the one good thing about the iPad 10 not supporting Apple Pencil 2 is that you can have a landscape camera AND buy a cheap pencil that will attach to the side of the iPad like a Gen 2.

I mean you already have to use a cable to charge the Gen 1 now anyway so might as well get a cheaper magnetic pencil.

as someone who uses both— the apple pencil works amazing in PROCREATE because of the pressure sensitivity which other pencils don't have, its like the brushes are COMPLETELY different. but if you're looking to use it for anything other than procreate or smth that uses pressure sensitivity, then its pretty good actually. i have the black one from the video, it even came with extra nibs.

These are a good alternative if you just want to take notes and stuff but if you are into art and want the pencil manly for art then get the Apple Pencil. Otherwise just get the cheaper stylus

i recently bought a 3rd party apple pencil for my 6th gen ipad and it works really nice, even with doing digital art like myself. the only problem i have with it is the off and on sensor is really sensitive and ill end up turning it off on accident a lot. other than that i recommend the third party pencils. plus it comes with 3 extra tips just in case one of em get scratched up or something. also definitely get a screen protector cause it feels like you could easily break your ipad or feels like youre scratching it after using the pencil for a long while

I honestly think longitech is the best one to choose. It’s very similar to the Apple Pencil quality. Plus it’s cheaper than Apple Pencil and it is guaranteed to be compatible with all iPads. Unlike the Apple Pencil 1st generation

Pressure sensitivity is important to artists and designers, but it’s weird how it supports the 1st gen pen and an adapter is needed for the 2nd gen pencil 😮
