There’s a reason fine art is used as an alternative investment asset.

Just because something isn't worth much now, doesn't mean it's worthless later.

I just discovered this series and I can’t stop watching. It feels like Dale Carnegie’s How To Win Friends and Influence People come to life. Cheers, mate.

-Some people are so poor money is all they have (rich).

-wealth in their hands but not in their hearts (really rich).

I had to cancel my health insurance last month to pay a parking ticket so I wouldnt go to jail. I cant even fathom this type of extravagance.

So, when I was in my early 20's I wanted to be an artist. A buddy of mine made a lot of wealth in real estate and knew art people. They didn't want to buy any of my stuff, but for the price of a 12er of PBR they'd talk to me about the business until the last beer was gone. Rich people buy expensive looking art to look important and cultured. Wealthy people buy art as an investment and use those to pad the trusts for their children. The fact that they also buy art from up and comers means they have a dealer that can point out ones that may inherit a lot of value once they gain popularity. Art is an investment that you can enjoy. Hopefully I explained the difference between the two.

I remember looking up at their bar and saying "I have never had a 24 year old scotch" and them saying "meh, Jameson's is better"

What I've learned from these videos is that REALLY rich people wear glasses, but look over the lenses.

As someone who regularly commissions artists, I 100% concur with really rich guy.

Art is insane how there is no set value.
I'd never sell my first painting, it's priceless.
Kept it in my car with me when I was homeless.
Keep it on my wall now.
It's probably not the best, and it's got a couple tears in the canvas, but it's value to me isn't really finite.
Maybe some billionaire feels the same way about a painting. What's it worth?

Funny as all get out with consistant quality. 👍 Glad you have a hobby that entertains the masses. Thanks for sharing.

The rich guy is the type of commissioner who would get every draft and say its good then demand a full refund at the last stage

Modern art explained:
Rich guy makes $20 million in profit that year.
He commissions an upcoming "artist" to splatter some paint on a canvass and buys it for $50k.
Then gets his buddy professional art appraiser to value the painting at $20 million.
Rich guy then donates the painting to a art gallery.
Then files his tax paperwork which shows that for that year he made $20 mil, but also donated the $20 mil. Net income for that results to be $0, and the rich guy avoids paying any taxes on the $20 mil he just made.

As an NFT artist, I confirm that these are the two types of NFT collectors having a chat

There is truth to this. Celebrities will get paintings of themselves not realizing they're the only ones who would pay a fortune for them

I would be first fascinated that he even got his hands on a Basquiat that on it’s own shows how connected you are
