“fly private next time” to remind him he is not that rich

This is so true.

I worked for 1 year as a student in a beautiful but very expensive fine dining restaurant and many of the "rich" people (who were usually nobody's) kept demanding where they sat, being rude to staff, were always loud and abnoxious and also dropped the name card every now and then. (The usual, do you know who I am or who I work for?)

The "really rich" people wanted a seat away from everyone else and sat peacefully and quietly, and were always so polite to my colleagues and I. They used to also ask me how my studies were going and were just very happy to conversate with the serving staff. They were some of my favourite customers.

This is very accurate for airport life.
Here's a tip, get a "I love baggage handlers" sticker for your bag. My old crew literally loved this joke and actually took extra care of them. (free priority baggage lol, we would put them with the other priority baggage)

It’s really amazing how far kindness can get you no matter your worth in any currency even if it doesn’t get you anywhere a few words can turn someone’s life and perspective around

It shows that continued kindness is best. Treat others with respect and it will come back to you.

This is so true tho!! I work in the service industry and you can always tell the difference in how people treat you. Poorer/super rich treat you better the middle class and semi rich. The first also tips better even the poorer of all of them. Everyone should just be decent people and not a holes

As a Flight Attendant, I wish more people acted like Mr. Crown. It is really understated how someone like that can really make our day.

It's amazing how being kind will go a long way in the airline industry. Been working in the airline industry for 8 years now. I'll go above and beyond for the regulars who treat me and coworkers kindly; same for the "cattle". I find usually my highest level medallions are usually the kindest vs those who just made some kind of status.

I'm not super rich. I grew up poor. But I have learned being a kind and respectful person gets you tons of perks. Just an example, I was traveling for a convention via bus. I wasn't looking for favors but was simply chatting with the desk worker. After a small conversation she smiled at us and said she was gonna upgrade us to priority boarding and wished us a good day. We thanked her and our trip was a little easier. Was it the Ritz? The best upgrade available? No. But it was a free upgrade that helped us a bit.

It's not even about being "realy rich" it's about being nice

Airline staff are actually some of the nicest people if you’re just nice back. I had an amazingly nice flight attendant who upgraded me to first class and gave me free snacks because I was willing to switch spots so a family could sit together. If you’re kind, and you do it with a smile on your face and a good jolly voice, people will notice.

I guess this makes me a really rich person! I fly a lot for work and after all these years the airline takes pretty good care of me. One time my flight was canceled and the gate agent in the lounge was so nice. She helped me make other arrangements, gave me “God status” to get on the first morning flight out, and even called later to make sure I was settled in the hotel and give me status updates. Meanwhile this other guy in the lounge in the same situation was yelling and making the agents feel bad and making his poor child cry. The agents did their best to help him but they weren’t going to move mountains for him. Never take out your frustrations on the innocent staff. It’s never their fault and you catch more flies with honey anyway.

All of these videos highlight the importance of developing a relationship with other people and treating them well as opposed to being like, “I sPeNt A lOt Of MoNeYyYyY”

I have to say working sales in a rich area vs an "up and coming" rich area, actually rich people are almost all super nice people

This entire series is basically ‘if you show some human decency people will return the favor.’ I love the frustration on rich guys face every time.
