UNBELIEVABLE DESTRUCTION: Hurricane Helene destroys our Farm

We’re ok, and our house was barely spared but the lower farm is destroyed. Livestock, high tunnel, bridge and more lost forever.

I honestly don’t know where to begin. The hurricane wiped out almost everything I had. My house is barely standing, and I don’t even know if my insurance will cover it all. My family and I are safe, but... how do you start rebuilding from this?

Im a hurricane Katrina survivor. My family and Ilost everything we ever had in life. My grandpa who raised me, handled the situation just like you. He was calm and collected collected making us feel safe. Geat job to the dad.

People talk about "prepping" and being "self-sufficient". But what do you do when your "preps" and means of "self-sufficiency" wash away? There was no way to prepare for this! True survival all comes down to your mindset. They accepted what was happening and moved to mitigate and preserve what they could. They were resilient and thankful for what was spared. Everyone's contribution was valued and they reached out to help others as well. Many lessons to be learned here.
