Another thing you can do for the tape, is to save the plastic clip things they will sometimes put on bread (not the twisty ties). Put it under the tag end of the tape, each roll of tape will have it's own plastic clip (tag).

I was recently at a conference and a new wood worker and myself (also a newbie) were talking about resources. I sent your link as one of 3 because of this kind of great content.. Thank you so much.

The outfeed height mark idea is brilliant!

I put a tiny neodymium magnet on my drill press to hold the chuck key, so simple, it never falls off! Those little magnets are worth their weight for sure, just keep them away from electronics, smart phones, etc. thanks Colin

The off set screw drivers are great I've got a couple of them floating around in my tool box. I used to use them a lot installing car stereos, especially rear speakers in the back deck under the back window. Never seemed to be enough room to get your fingers in there to tighten down the screws. They work great in a cordless drill too.

Haha. Sweet. I'm going to start using a tab of duct tape or masking tape to find the edge of my packing tape. You're brilliant!

The flimsy angle adapters like that are not usually impact-rated. They'll work fine as long as there isn't much resistance on the screws, but as soon as the hammers in the impact driver start having to engage, the gears are likely to shatter. It'll be fine on a drill, but for an impact driver you really want a beefier one that's actually rated for it.

More great tips and tricks. I use a paper tool over the magnet when I clean up metal chips around the drill press but will grab a plastic bag next time. The sticky tab on the tape end will be added to my knowledge bin now, I HATE having to search for the end of the tape.

With the table saw roller, I’ve found that the roller absolutely MUST be truly perpendicular to the blade. If it is only slightly out of alignment, your timber will track-off your line of cut. There is a much better form of roller out there which has individual roller-bearings. Your work stays true with that one.

To stabilize the roller stand its better to use sand bags... usually they are used to stabilize light stands for photography and video making... they work really well and simple to use... great video

Instead of placing a post-it note at the end of the tape, my dad taught me to simply fold over the end a tiny bit. Works every time and you don't have to search for the post- it. It would be even better if tape manufacturers could make their tape glue change colour once the glue is exposed to oxygen. It would make finding the end of clear tape easier!

With regards to the magnet on the hammer, it's a good idea, but how well would the nails stick once you're swinging it? I reckon they'd fall off. If they didn't, they would cut your wrists. Good idea in theory, but I reckon it wouldn't be good in practice

Great tip with the roller stand! I'll put that one to good use, thank you.
For the tape, I usually just turn a twist in the end.

I like the tip on finding the ends of tape, I use those plastic fasteners that they put on bread and rolls etc. They are free after you eat the bread.

Nice tips, the sticky note tabs the color helps. I usually just fold the tape under against itself though. Great magnet tips.
