Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge are the most popular browsers out there. But how do they fare when it comes to malicious downloads? Here is a malware download/security test and side by side comparison.

Hey Leo, can you make some smartphone anti-malware apps versus smartphone malware the same way you make your AV reviews?

Can you please compare the PC resources load required by various AV/AM suites - my anecdotal experience is that some AV suites are resource hogs, making the workstation sluggish. Mere mortals cannot compare the entire set of AV suites available so having this done by an expert for our consumption would be cool

Interesting to note Edge seems to download the file and then block it for being malicious and Chrome just stops you from downloading it outright. I wonder if these different approaches make any difference

Hi Leo, I really think after the 1709 version came out it made the OS including Edge more robust and sturdier much improved overall. Thanks for the demo.

Love your tests!
Would be great if you could test some of the Cyber Security Firewall Devices available, i.e. Bitdefender Box 2 vs Cujo vs Dojo vs Keezel vs Norton Core vs Asus AiProtection.

Can you test the Google Chrome “virus scanner”? I found that Chrome has a built-in scanner, which scan you PC for any infection. (It is in the setting under security).

Leo, can you make test with a Avast Safe browser?

Since "Edgium" (Chromium Edge) has been available since the beginning of the year, can we have another test versus the competitors Leo?

Doesn't chrome use Kaspersky for scanning downloaded files? I think i read that somewhere but I forgot where.

Great video still never seen a malwarebytes exploit test and wondering if there is anyway to actually test that with really exploit kits. A response or your opinion on this type of testing would be great

Love your channel but confused how you say Chrome blocks malicious URLs better than Firefox considering Firefox uses Chrome's list.

This only test a small part of browser security. Still a decent test, but should be labeled something like "fishing security test" instead of just security test.

Also, it is no surprise that Edge and Chrome are both great at this and most other browsers are bad. This pretty much comes down to brute force on the developers side to identify threats. Having a bigger team or more user data gives a direct advantage, but I wouldn't take that to mean that more popular browsers are inherently safer(as a whole) because that also means more attackers are targeting them.

Could you test the security of the Brave browser?
