I love that my calendar is pretty much empty every month lol . Don’t give in to society norms just be you, whatever that looks like it’s ok, it’s your life . Live it how you want . Stay free and happy 😊

We pick up a lot of clutter just to let it go in the future. Great reminder to "stop the shop!" What will this do to my future self? This cycle of self-sabotage causes anxiety, apprehension, more time away from pursuing the things I enjoy.

I haven’t been to a company holiday party in more than five years, even though it’s my job to plan them! 😂 I always have a clever excuse… next goal is no excuse at all. I just want to be confident enough to say “I won’t be there because it’s not really my kind of thing.” 💥

It's hard to say no when it's not a pressing obligation and it's way in the future. When the obligation becomes a dreaded reality then it's a burden we want to unload.

“I don’t want to burden my future self with unnecessary obligations….”WHEW….that’s a word!!!!

My hard thing is I get sudden onset migraines and I feel bad because people probably think it's an excuse when I can no longer attend the thing at the last minute. People are so used to others using "I'm sick" to get out of things that they don't really accept the truth.

CANCELING DATES
It's rude to fill your calender with multiple invites; to choose which is "the best one" or that you are "in the mood to do"---then, cancel on all the others you were invited to.

It leaves the host hanging.

It’s rude to say “no” at the last minute after committing to attend an event or a party unless there is a real emergency!

It's becoming super easy to say no these days. 🥳👍

It’s called the “California yes”. Meaning “yes” until something better comes up. Or they simply don’t feel like it the day of. Pantenting that btw!

One year my partner and I made it our New Year's Resolution to only attend things we actually wanted to go to. It was so liberating. Of course we'd go to our nuclear family birthdays but really those would fall in the category of things we wanted to go to. It really helped restore my energy and was positive for our mental health.

It is way better to say no when you do not want to, and better to be declined than knowing you forced someone or feel obligated to say yes.
