Teen dies days after tonsils removed

Northview High School student Katie Wessely died last Saturday after spending five days in ICU at Helen DeVos Childrens hospital. (Dec. 4, 2014)

Hey- people who are getting there tonsils out- don’t watch this. You don’t need to, and you only scaring yourslef. The autopsy came back and the girl died of other complications, NOT the surgery. Your gonna be fine, this is a very commonly preformed Surgery! Bring a stuffy and book to comfort you.

The autopsy came back and she didn’t die from complications of the tonsillectomy. She actually had severe pneumonia, to be more specific, bilateral bronchopneumonia. Please do your research before spreading false info and scaring people that are about to have tonsillectomies.. I have mine tomorrow and we’ll see how that goes

I had mine removed in 2011 and after 1 week post op, I almost bled to death. I BELIVE the scabs where the procedure was done came off and I started hemorrhaging. (I never asked what exactly happen) .I had to go back for an emergency surgery, my stomach was pumped from so my blood i swallowed and I had to have a blood transfusion. Worst day of my life. I literally saw my life flash before my eyes.

Most people who bleed after the surgery there surgeon did a bad job

Heartbroken for u this happ6ened to my daughter about ten yrs ago she started bleeding from the mouth 9 dayz aftrr her op my son gave her the kiss of life and got her breathing again she lost pints of blood and was in icu for a week drs said it was just one of them thing that happenes some times thank god my son savefd her she is a mum of 2girls mow xx liverpool uk xx

I got mine two weeks ago out the pain was awful I’ve never been in so much pain I had one bleeding and needed to inhale a solution so my blood clots I’m happy it’s over

I had my tonsils out in my mid 20s and I have to say while it went very well and my recovery was fine it was the most painful experience of my life

I burst 3 times after my tonsil removed. All three times I woke up during night of blood was poring down my thought. I puked up gored blood from my stomach.

My friend just got hers removed, the surgery was successful but my friend can barely talk and walk 😕

I got mine after I was 4, I looked it up because I threw up blood afterwords and wondered why! Shook me to the bone. ❤️
