I Got Abused in Turkey (Extreme Turkish Bath)

If you've never heard of a Turkish Bath before, then prepare yourself for what you're about to see! Truth be told - I've never felt cleaner before in my life... but the process of getting clean is beyond intimidating.

My first time doing a Turkish Bath was in 2012 in Istanbul, and all I can remember is an old, hairy Turkish man scrubbing down every millimeter of my body with sandpaper and soap...

I decided to do it again here in the Southeastern Turkish city of Mardin, and document the entire process so you can see what it's like from first-hand experience.

If you ever find yourself in Turkey, I highly suggest giving a Turkish Bath a try!

First I thought it was serious. Then I realized it is more serious.

I done this a few years back in Ankara, the Hammam was ancient, during the scrubbing it was as if they had thrown wet macaroni over me, dead skin rolls everywhere. Cleanest I have ever felt. Just a slight breeze outside made me feel as if it was winter (it was at the start of summer) I want to travel around Turkey, one of the most beautiful countries in the world, loads of history, fantastic food and the people there are amazing.

I used to work with a guy who went to a Turkish bath in Istanbul. His wife could hear him screaming from the other room while he said two men worked him over with their knee in his back and twisting his arms and legs. When he came out he said his tan was gone and he said his back was covered in bruises but for the first time in his life he didn’t have back pain.

When I had one, it was amazing! They bring you tea in your little resting room after. Here it’s )250 for a lousy spa. Long live the Turkish bath!
