Alec Baldwin charged with involuntary manslaughter in 'Rust' movie shooting

How ironic that someone so vocally anti-gun is getting charged with a felony because he shot someone because he ignored safety procedures that have been in place in the industry for a very long time.

His arguments fall through any way you look at them. There's even a picture of him just before the accident with his finger on the trigger. Plus, he skipped the 30 minute gun safety introduction he was supposed to do and instead used the time to talk on on the phone.

If he had been honest about pulling the trigger, he probably wouldn’t have been charged. The lie shows he was conscious of his own liability

For those saying he should not be charged, he is the producer, the producer is ultimately responsible for the safety of everyone on the set

He stated in his police interview that he was asked if he wanted to check the gun and he said NO

If he doesn't accept the fact he relied on one other person, should be dual checks anyway, inherently dangerous product, a gun. In the future this could happen again, and what? Someone else said the gun was safe? Not good enough. Fair charge.

I guess Baldwin didn't know (or didn't bother to know) his responsibility. I've heard that the armorer was a very young, inexperienced woman and maybe she didn't understand her full responsibility either. I don't see how he will be able to wiggle out of liability.

Appropriate. As to anyone up in arms (so to speak) about this, if he's innocent, the jury should find him innocent. I, personally, think he should be found negligent/guilty.

Baldwin should be charged and serve time in prison. It was ultimately his responsibility and he did not have the common sense to check the gun. That shows he was very careless in the safety of another’s life. He is an actor - producer and did not perform the necessary safety checks. Just because he is an actor -producer does not put him above the responsibility of his actions.
