Ram has unveiled its updated 2025 Ram 1500 (DT) lineup, featuring the all-new Ram 1500 Ramcharger. Previously referred to as the Ram 1500 REV XR, this model represents a significant advancement in electric pickup technology, addressing current market challenges.

The 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger boasts a cutting-edge performance system, combining a liquid-cooled 92 kWh battery pack with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with a 130 kW generator. This powertrain drives 250-kW front and 238-kW rear Electric Drive Modules (EDMs), which integrate the motor, gearbox, and inverter, and enable all-wheel-drive capability. Notably, the front EDM features an automatic wheel-end disconnect for enhanced efficiency under specific conditions, allowing the front wheels to rotate freely. Additionally, the rear axle houses a second EDM, complemented by an optional electronic-locking rear differential.

The power flow is orchestrated sequentially: the Pentastar V6 engine powers the onboard 130 kW generator, converting mechanical power to electrical energy. This electrical power serves multiple purposes, from recharging the battery when depleted to augmenting the high-voltage bus where the EDMs draw power to propel the vehicle. Notably, there is no direct mechanical connection between the engine and the wheels.

I'm actually interested in this to use with my future food truck. No need to use a loud generator. 130kw of power plus the 90kw on board battery would last the whole day with no noise.

Great truck, great engineering. Lots of people are interested. Now the price tag is gonna be super high and dealers markups even higher and then nobody is going to actually afford them. So all that effort for nothing.

Looks like a great vehicle. The down side will be affordability for middle America. Don’t price us out.

Question: with on board generator operating does power go directly to electric motors or to batteries first then to electric motors?

I’ve reserved a spot for one. Can’t wait for it. Most common sense electric ⚡️ truck

That’s the way we like/ that’s the truck we like!

Now this is an electric truck I would like to buy. All electric is a no go but electric and gas together that’s the way to go. Not having to worry about a charging station and you can go long distance this is a definite buy for me. 👍

QUESTION We still need to put gas in the V6 engine so how is works?

Go a few years down the road and owners will find they do not have the ability to repair it themselves unless they work for Nasa.

But here is the question I have. I was quick to want one until somebody had a great point in another video I watched. If you let the power run out and end up on generator to drive the truck around, will there be a degradation in performance? The output power of the generator that charges the batteries is no where near the output power of the truck motors. Anybody know the answer to this? I want to know before placing an order.

What happens when ICE is outlawed, will the dealer have to pull the V6 and stuff in even more expensive and heavy batteries?

It's a hybrid. I'll believe it when I see it.

Just give em enough time and they’ll F IT UP every time. Yeah, pay for a battery then tell me how awesome it is.

yes... but what i'm really looking for in an ev is the spontaneous intense and out of control fires. and how can a discerning shopper be confident they are buying an ev with batteries made from chinese-sourced materials?

what is the value proposition? if all it can achieve as a grocery getter is 20 mpg, why bother? 20 mpg is average for an ICE, at greatly lower price tag, and at mucho less tech to fail.

I’ll pass considering mopars history with electrical issues.

Still amazed how people celebrating this insane engineering. Which will make the truck super inefficient, crazy expensive and not mentioning the technical issues. A 140kw generator powering 450kw electric motors? Something is wrong here? A 90kwh battery pack? Does anybody know what the friction coefficient is for rubber wheels on the road? Weight is so important and the combination of a full engine PowerSong with a 92kwh battery pack, absolutely insane. This truck design may be the peak of engineering stupidity of the whole EV scam…
Really ridiculous but in the US where’re the majority of people became so dumb that they put insane loans on cars and buy cars with payments it is possible to do the most stupid things and get applauded for it…

actually done wrong if ur going up the mountain with 10 000 pounds and you run out of battery then go to engine which is not connected drive train. you can only charge with only 175 horsepower up a mountain that's going nowhere quick maybe get more information

So an electric truck with a gas generator? Really!?! Why not just use the gas engine?

EV Mandate=Dictatorship. You must drive electric even if it has a gas generator.
Lets do the math. 690 range on 27gallon tank = 25miles per gallon. I got 33miles per gallon on my Ram Eco Diesel during a 3500 mile road trip driving + 5mph over speed limits 70 T0 80MPH. Truck is a 2022 Big Horn Level 2 trim. Rides like a sofa going down the road.

Price of the truck 53000. So eliminating the Eco Diesel is foolish move. They should have created a hybrid version of the Eco Diesel. Once the EV mandate gets retracted maybe things will change. In the mean time dealers are having problems selling EVs due to the high costs and the interest rates for the normal Joe. Lets get real-we are all in big trouble with what is going on. VOTE OIL
