I'm with you -- The 27-gallon gas tank of Ramcharger is a great feature. Not some small tank, but a good sized tank. The bigger, the better.

I cannot wait for this truck. It's a damn 3/4 ton in a 1/2 chassis.

Man what I love so much about this truck is the idea that I can have the option of Gas or electric. Road trip, forget the dumb slow charging just use gas. At home, plugin over night and never use gas. This thing is exactly what most people are looking for in an EV.

Gosh I hope they release a 6’4 bed. Much harder to justify moving from my ecodiesel without an increase in bed size from my 5’7. Already super disappointed the current tungsten’s only come in 5’7.

Cant wait for this truck. My goal to buy it and use for my future food truck. The onboard electric will be more than enough to not need a loud generator. The v6 will keep the battery topped up.

people hear plugin hybrid and think 4xe with a tiny electric assist motor. This is a full fledged EV with a battery bigger than an ioniq 5 or blazer ev, and it has a gas v6 to back it. This is actually a monster and if they do it right, this is the future of the brand. Regen braking is just better engine braking when it comes to slowing down a heavy load (provided you have spare battery) but a battery this big, its the equivalent of dc fast charging on the road while you slow down, so keep it under 80% for most use. Considering the 3.0t is an awful tow engine, this really is their only answer for towing big going forward. Plus, no transmission issues to deal with, and well designed electric motors are far far more reliable, just need to keep temps in check and lube them every so often and they run for basically ever.

This can and will translate VERY well into the HD truck segments, as Edison Motors diesel electric trucks are just simply better, and they're a startup. Imagine the 6.7 cummins, but not gimped by a 6 speed transmission. Take the standard cummins, it makes 220kW at about 2000 rpm, this is a good working generator output for general power supply, and considering the potential to tap into that for an electric PTO or heavy duty equipment like several 240v 30a or even 50a circuits would be an interesting take on the diesel hybrid truck, using it as on onsite generator. And if you were really working it hard and needed every last ounce of power, you could rev the engine to the full 275kW in a pinch just to get that last bit of oomph if really needed.

The "air" system for the suspension, on my 2019 Ram anyway, is pure nitrogen and is a closed system to eliminate contamination. The compressor is there to move the nitrogen from onboard storage tanks to the suspension components and back to the tanks, depending on ride height desired.
There's no reason I've seen to think the Ramcharger's system will be different, other than prehaps one larger tank rather than the two small tanks currently used.
There may be a separate compressor for duty as an air source for tires and such.

awesome to see the chassis with everything hooked up. Was worried for a while there that it was cancelled.
How rhey give it a nice 6-8kW inverter that can power stuff on a remote jobsite to your home in case of a power outtage .

Ugh, it's coming out in 2025, why does that have CCS instead of NACS?

The most important spec/curve that interests me is the KW equivalent charging rate of the PentaStar range extender engine, if Stellantis will reveal it? I suspect if the charging rate of PentaStar is significantly less than 100 KW, they better start the extender engine maybe before state of charge drops below 50%.

So at 690 range: Does that mean that you need to plug in because it will be fully drained? Or does that mean its time to fill your tank and continue on your way in a full gas mode? I'm still trying to totally wrap my mind around the fully electric drive if the generator needs to charge the batteries first. I assume it means that at 690 you'll be starting to send 100% of the generator into the drive system but id like that clarified. In other words can I still do a 2000 mile trip and just know that from 690 on I'm running in a full gas mode.

Great comparison, Wagoneer and Ramcharger with GMC Sierra EV AT4 trim, hope that Jeep makes a good Wagoneer 4xe Trailhawk trim with Ramcharger powertrain.

if you only need about 20hp to drive steady down the road, why is the generator a huge v6 and not a I4 or smaller??

literally waiting for this to be available so i can preorder one. was thinking of the full ev ram but as soon as this popped up i decided ill wait however long i need.

Where is the radiator? Where is the cooling system going?

This answers an important question I had regarding gas only range. If they expect 140 miles electric, 690 total, on a 27 gallon tank, it means they expect 20mpg gas only. A regular Ram 1500 4x4 3.6l is rated 19 city 24 hwy. So it appears the series hybrid arrangement is not quiite as efficient as the regular transmission setup once you've exhausted the battery.

Who crossed those coolant lines right over the battery?

I'm beginning to think these are going to be hard to get because contractors will snatch them up as work trucks.
