Algebra 2: Be Careful When Taking it in 10th grade
Показать описание
As your children continue their education, the level of difficulty in each class naturally rises. Whether your child fully understands math or has difficulty with the material, both have the potential to crash and burn in Algebra 2. Why is Algebra 2 such a difficult class for so many students? On this video, Dr. Feenix Pan discusses several ways you can help your children prepare for Algebra 2 so they don’t struggle in the future.
Algebra 2 is a heavier class, building upon what was taught in Geometry and Algebra 1. It’s expected that a student knows the basics without having to relearn Algebra 1 from scratch. Brush up on Algebra 1 before enrolling in Algebra 2 at least one month before the class begins. By doing this, you are brushing up on the fundamentals of Algebra so that your child has a refreshed understanding of the basic formulas that carry over.
Hiring a math tutor that has a focus in Algebra is another option that will benefit any child who might be struggling. Whether going over past lessons or introducing new concepts, tutors have the ability to focus the lesson solely on your child’s needs so they can fully grasp the material.
If possible, taking an extra-curricular class in Algebra 2 over the summer is a big benefit to your child’s future education. There are many resources you can utilize for free online or you can inquire with your local community college. While most kids would resist the idea of taking extra school over the summer, by enrolling in a college level Algebra class your child will have an advanced understanding of what’s to come when they return to school in the fall.
Advanced mathematics like Algebra 2 can be scary, but with Dr. Feenix Pan’s advice, you’ll be able to give your child a great start in a difficult class.
