How To Prevent & Avoid Your PS4 Playstation Freezing & Crashing When You Start, Login Or Load DayZ

On PS4 (and maybe Xbox) if your character is an a building-rich part of the map, you'll get a bug where the game freezes as you spawn in. By angling both your sticks, and / or tapping your inventory button, you can avoid this.

Every time they release an "update, " this gets worse, now I can't even make it to the menu screen, it freezes at "Press X to start the game."

I found looking down straight away works too, been doing it for a week and haven’t had an issue yet 👍

I played a good 5 minutes of dayz on console after a year of moving to pc. The optimisation is soo bad I have to commend all of you that still play this game with such passion. I used to be one of them so I feel your pain. But just watching this reminded me of the utter crap we used to put up with on this game on console.
