I'm the 2nd owner of a 14 Mazda3 SGT (2.5l Skyactiv). I've had it since 22k miles and it's about to tick at 150k miles in a week or so. July will make my 7th year of ownership. I've replaced the belt tensioner twice in that time and replaced the water pump. The pump was leaking per dealership inspection, however, I never noticed a leak or any anomalies with fluid levels, and that was done at about 55k miles, but was covered under CPO warranty. Oil change intervals have been 7500 miles. I've done transmission fluid exchange twice. The car has never left me stranded and currently averages 31 to 37 mpgs. I've been keeping records since 2017. Lowest overall lifetime mpg for one tank, 17.9 mpg (pandemic - city setting), highest mpg which most recently beat its record (37.5) is 38.0 mpg. I live in rural area and most trips are 20 - 65 miles one way.

Honestly I’ve never had any problems with any of the 5 Mazdas I’ve owned in the past. I’m considering coming back.

Bought a Mazda3 hatch brand new in 2016. 118, 000 miles later and not a single issue with the engine. I did have the serpentine belt replaced at 100, 000 miles. The other day my back passenger side shocks went. Aside from that, it’s been a fine car. As long as you get oil changes in a timely manner, I feel like my Mazda will run forever.

Cm on folks, Don't let alarmists turn you away from Mazdas. I traded my Mazda-3 with over 200k on the odo for another car and would not hesitate to get another one. Both the 2L and the 2.5L Mazda engines are excellent and long lasting, given the fact, you maintain it properly and do not abuse the vehicle.

I own a 2014 Mazda6, a 2005 and a 2008 Mazda 6, and a 2010 Mazda 3. All of them have over 100, 000 miles, the 3 has 212, 000 miles. Never a problem with a timing chain. never a problem with Fuel injectors. Never a problem with fuel pumps. I keep them all running myself. Just your standard and completely understandable tune up and wear and tear repairs are all I've ever had to do. Great, great cars.

I have a 2021 CX-30 non-turbo AWD 2.5 Skyactive-G. I change the oil with proper full synthetic and filter every 6000 miles, have it done by a dealer, check the oil frequently and no problems at 38, 000 miles. It has been across the USA from zero to 12, 000 feet, in temps from well below freezing to 103 F. I also changed the engine air and cabin filter at about 25, 000. Local fuel mileage is abut 24 MPG, top highway at moderate speeds at about 29-30.

Change this Engine oil every 5000 miles if You don't drive much or do a lot of short drives say under 5 miles etc, You'll Thank me later, 12, 000 oil changes are absolutely STUPID unless of course you do it all in None Stop driving then maybe but I wouldn't even with the best oil possible.

I have a ‘16 Cx-5. No issues at all. Fuel economy is not great, I check it at every fill up and it’s 9-10 gallons for 250 miles ( 24-28 mpgs). If I do a 100% highway trip I’ll get 30!

Are used to have a Mazda three 2014 I had 165, 000 miles on the car before I traded in the problem was the transmission was slipping. I ran synthetic oil in it from the beginning never had one engine problem its transmissions I wonder about of course that was one Ford on them. Now I have a Kia forte turbo, and I just had to have the fuel injectors rebuilt. I’ve had more issues with Kia than I’ve had with the Mazda, but I will definitely buy a Mazda in the future.

I have a Mazda 6 2015, and it burns more oil and drive rough on low octane gas .When I found this out . I started using 93 octane and the problem went away . I have been using only 93 octane for the last 8 yrs , and it drives and zooms like a new car .

My 2015 Mazda3 Skyactiv engine got 360, 000 or 580, 000 Km without any problems. I do my own maintenance and oil change every 5, 000 miles and 30, 000 miles trans. oil drain and fill. I did induction cleaning at 180, 000 Miles and the valves weren't too dirty. I would buy another Mazda with SkyActiv engine again.

I have a 2015 Cx-5 Touring with 105k miles I'm 2nd owner and it's been good but recently it has a lil shake on idle but has new spark plugs, I only use Premium fuel and all Fluid Maintenances have been done. Sometimes feels slugish on acceleration like it doesn't want to barley move and also transmission sometimes has some rough shifting.
