Nuclear option for green water a phosphate removing filter media. If you have plants don't use it more than a few days at a time. It starves the algae of a key nutrient. Side note you will need to clean the surface of the substrate a lot because a lot of dead algae will accumulate

Getting a UV sterilizer also is great if you want to allow the slightest bit of algae but not have it explode on you. Kills off the bloom and as an added bonus helps kill off bad bacteria and fungi too. However it also definitely requires a timer since having it on for more than a few hours a day will totally screw up the nitrogen cycle (it kills off beneficial bacteria too). Also you have to remember to unplug it if you are treating fish since it often neutralizes medications too... It isn't a perfect solution but it definitely helps if you can't keep your aquarium out of sunlight entirely.

one idea for a video in the future would be identifying types of snails more specifically young snails i have just gotten some duckweed and 2 maybe rams horn snails have come along i have kept them in for now but i just want to properly identify them

What about southamerica and Mbuna cichlids tanks. Because even though I have a cascade platinum and a hang on filter I still have an abundance of algae and I don't have it near a window. shrimps and snails are not an option because they will eventually become a meal
