Initially the first aid wouldn't work along with the mount button. I did the terminal thing but it came up with a message saying that it timed out. HOWEVER the first aid tool then fixed the problem straight after. THANKS NOUREDDIN!

Deleted my previous comment saying, after I typed the Diskutil eject way, it didn't do anything but stayed blank. After some waiting, it ended up saying "Ejected"... So It's all good now. Thank you truly for this help!

What if that still didn’t work for me? The seagate storage device is showing up in disk utility… won’t erase or mount on the Home Screen … did the terminal got a ejected message but still won’t show up even after a restart, and advice? I know the Seagate doesn’t work with a Mac unless you reformat it but it won’t let me… is it done?

I tried this, but the terminal times out and does not ejects the disk. I have a My Passport for Mac which was connected via a USB hub. The hub failed and now the Mac can't see the disk. It shows in Disk Utilities, but that's it.

This was helpful, the only way I could get my HD to work is to eject it through the Terminal as in the video then it mounted the next time I connected it. Thanks for sharing the learnings
