Let's show you how to add subtitles or captions to your YouTube video in Studio.

In this video, I walk you through the steps to add subtitles to your YouTube video. First, you must be logged in to YouTube, click on your Profile icon, and click on YouTube Studio. To the left, click on the Subtitles tab and click on the drop-down under Languages for the video that you want. Select the language and confirm. YouTube will create automated subtitles. You can now edit those automatic subtitles. Click on Duplicate and Edit and then make any changes that are needed in the text. You can now Save Draft or Publish, which makes it public.

I hope this video helped solve your problem. App still not working? If so, drop your question in a comment below!

Wondering how to customize the subtitles that are appearing? They're blocking our faces right now, and I can't figure out how to fix this issue.

I have over 60 videos and all have subtitles/captions to all except 2! For some reason it wont allow me to add them. The CC on the video is grayed out and with "Add Language" I get the list of languages but when i add it no text appears, only asking me/showing me, how I can upload a script onto the video. But i dont want to upload a script, i dont have a script, i want to get it from the one generated by Youtube! Can you help me please? Why these two wont alow me when the other 58 do??

Yeah this did not work, it doesn't automatically add subtitles, it just says English[video language] instead of automatic

Nope. none of this works. YouTube must be broken since nothing you showed here is possible. I've added subtitles many times on other videos but this no longer works.

I found it incredibly tedious trying to match the subtitles with the actual voice in the track. Grrrr...
