Have you ever had your knee buckle when you are going down the stairs, stepping off a curb or just walking down the street? If so, you need to check out this muscle, the Vastus Medialis. This is an awesome video, thank you so much for both explaining and sharing how to overcome the same. You are a very good physio indeed.

Wish i had a good physio near me like this guy

Edit: I tried what he said in the video. Paired with IT band stretch, lighter weight and glute medius work it really helps if your knees cave in when your squat

I fell a few days ago in my garage and skinned my knees good fashion. I've been doing this off and on for the past 5 years. I fell a few years ago while inside the FedEx wharehouse and my right knee was swollen and stiff. Fortunately some ice packs and Ibuprofin fixed me right up and i was able to work the next day. Since then, when i do fall, I usually skin my knees, and there is soreness from the surrounding scars but no pain when I walk. It happens enough to be a little paranoid, so i try to be extra careful as I walk. In the years I worked at Caterpillar BCP (2001-2012) it was never a concern, but every since that fall at FedEx in 2015, it hapens once or twice a year.

I appreciate your knowledge, thank you! For me personally it's not pain it's been force spiritually, physically in reality, targeting of specific areas of body, contamination, financially and psychologically with no break, repetitively bombarded on multiple levels and now the impact is showing on my physical body, their instability has created instability now of my temple.

I'll try out some of these suggestions if they feel aligned, I feel it's to do with the front of the thigh being weak that's having a knock on effect on the knee...releasing itself.

Metaphysics is because I've had my power taken, been bound unable to move forth, been forced to submit, not allowed to stand/be seen, most importantly NO SUPPORT.

Had to giggle at the beginning (thank you for that) was thinking hope these exercises don't give me bodybuilders legs. Needed that release, thank you.

This seems like I should do it. I'm in a situation where it still is tender and painful to fully extend my leg in the air in it is sometimes a bit agitating in and around the knee area with an emphasis on the lower left side of the knee mostly. I dislocated my knee from a TON of physical labor working at Amazon as a delivery driver and haven't been able to walk normally since December 2023. The knee gives out going downstairs for sure and like I said can't extend left knee normally and at best I can do 1 slow leg extension 1-3 times before it's really painful around the knee. I suspect I tore a ligament of sorts and it's definitely healing because I'm able to do most things normal again except jumping, jogging, running, climbing and descending stairs, and of course lef extensions. I saw an orthoscopic surgeon about this and believed that surgery was needed at the time mainly because he thought he saw floating cartilage in there but to be honest I would have felt that by now and have actually dislocated the other knee when I was a kid, had surgery on it too for similar reasons, and there was a physical limitation in even moving my leg because cartilage actually got stuck in between and I tumbled down some stairs in highschool. This doesn't feel like that, just weakness from the leftover micro tears that take longer than normal to heal and losing both size and strength in my quad sitting and coordination not walking like normal. Would you say I should just keep at it and see if this fully heals by December coming up soon?

Nothing is tender on the front. I have very tight hamstrings, so I need to release the back and strengthen the front. I wish you had addressed this because stretching the front is the complete opposite of what I need to do.

My knee buckles. But I have had a bad case of sciatica for 9 weeks. During this I had a fall in my bedroom and landed on my knee. Since then the knee buckles. No pain just numbness around and in top of the knee and down my leg. Will this exercise help.

Hey so out of nowhere when I was playing sports my knee got very very weak over time and started to hurt. Pretty much whenever I start moving around it is very stiff and weak, and then over time as I keep moving it gets very weak. When I sit down for a while or sleep then get back up I have to limp or it will be painful to walk normally. What should my routine be to fix this? Also I’m 14 and there’s probably growing pains involved too. Great vid :)

I was a dancer and I have been dance for all my life, I don’t remember my first time my knee gave out but a week ago I was running and my knee gave out. When I fell my knee had pain when I moved it up and walked, it’s better now but it’s hard for me to dance because I am always scared that my knee with give out and it will hurt, now every time I lift my knee up and straighten it my knee bone moves to the side, I really want my knee to not move to the side when I try to straighten it, it’s on my right side, please tell me when I can do to make my knee bone not to move when I lift it up and try to straighten it, it doesn’t hurt when I try and I can do it it’s just my knee bone moves, thank you for this video.

My left knee has been nothing every once in a while over the past four years or so. I only experience it when I’m walking upstairs, and sometimes the knee will go week, with pain behind the knee. What would make this issue come and go as it does?

I did not understand why my knee was giving out. I thought something is broken or damaged. I hope I can make my quad stronger and make my knee stable again.

Hi, I wonder if you could give advice. In the last couple of years my left knee has begun to buckle frequently. It usually happens if I try to go up stairs too quickly and occasionally if my bodyweight is put on left leg with knee bent. There is no pain. I'm convinced it must be an old injury. Any advice how to strengthen and get rid of the buckling?
