They did the same thing for demon’s souls and sekiro. In demon souls, you can kill the tutorial boss but the next area has the dragon god punch you to death. In sekiro, you can beat Genichiro but he still cuts your arm off.

Just an FYI for whoever wants to try this boss:
You can use the dark ring of this game to “die” and respawn before the fight in full health/fp

Did you know? A rune rhymes with room. It's a stone with a symbol inscribed on it. It does not rhyme with ruin, a destroyed building.

I fought this boss with the bandit in beginning of the game and after 2 days later I died 101 times and finally i beat the boss 😊 I'm so happy

I posted this on another comment section but well here it is on this one as well.
Did you know that there is a bug for this boss?
When the boss gets you to 0 hp you don't actually die, instead the cutscene begins to play and you get transported, if you altf4 when your hp reaches 0 the game will auto save your hp and cancel the cutscene, once you log back in you'll be at the fog gate with 0 hp and since the trigger for the cutscene is getting you to 0 hp not dying you will be practically immortal until you take fall damage.
This way you can beat the boss with no effort, I found this bug as I attempted to beat the boss with every starting class and got tired of having to make a new character every time, I'm sure once people catch wind of this from will fix it but until then enjoy the free stuff.

I beat the boss but am disappointed in learning you can fight him again later for the same reward I feel like it should be exclusive
