the build up of this scene is absolutely flawless. typically it would be written as the doctor just revealing himself by opening the doors in a cliche, cringe way. but earlier in the episode it was revealed that since the doctor is incapacitated the tardis can't translate the Sycoraxic language. so the Sycorax leader speaking English leads you to the think the Tardis is translating and since the Doctor is linked to the Tardis reveals that he is alive.
