For Capaldi to appear BEFORE he "officially" became the Doctor? Single greatest trick of "time travel" ever seen on television. LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! :-)

I love how for parts of this speech, it isn’t one doctor saying it. It’s split up amongst the group, because it’s THE Doctor saying it. With every fiber of his being, every incarnation as one.

I cant believe it's been seven years it still feels like yesterday when Peter Capaldi was the new doctor

"The Daleks know something is happening!" Its really fun to think about how on every Dalek ship is a frantic chorus of "It is The Doctor!"

I love how the War Doctor mocks his successors for having a catchphrase.

It's a nice touch that #9 is the only other Doctor to get a "live" cut to him in the Tardis.

"You might say, *I've been doing this all my lives!"*

Truly a line only _The Doctor_ could say.

Love how Capaldi wanted to be a COMPANION, and ended us as the doctor.

"And I never want to see it again"
The force Matt Smith pushed in that like cuts deep, he's seen what happens if he doesn't save them and he won't let it happen again. Love it

So #9 says "And for my next trick" in the episode that is taken from Captian Jack was on the tardis at that moment. I like to think that Jack was there helping to save Galafrey.

this is the first time a future doctor has shown up before the current doctor regenerates into him

Of course they introduce him through his eyebrows...

A small but impressive part of this scene is so impressive because it easily flies completely under the radar, at least for casual viewer. "Calling the war council of Gallifrey" was never spoken by (first Doctor) William Hartnell, in fact the name of the Doctor's home planet wasn't even established until the third Doctor era. John Guilor, a voice actor famous for his impression of Harnell, provided the new dialogue.

Actually the clip of 9 used here (and later when they show John Hurt's face subtly morphing into Christopher Eccleston's when he regenerates) really makes me tear up. Knowing about how Chris was going through mental health struggles during his time on the show, it's understandable why he ultimately didn't decide to come back for this episode but my heart was still happy to see him represented onscreen like this. <3

As someone whose never watched Dr. Who, it's weird to watch a bunch of phone booths in space flying aggressively into an exploding planet...

yet it makes so much sense.

“No sir, all thirteen” gives me goosebumps every time, somehow. You never forget the moment you first meet your favourite Doctor ❤️
