The therapist also said I’m slow, but that has more to do with how many times I was dropped as a child

Climbing is like the most functional ancestral insert buzzword sport ever and basic strength exercises have helped me tremendously there

Yeah, that's why NFL players that are 250lbs and can run a 4.5 40 and jump 38 inches in the standing vert do kettlebell swings and not squats, bench and power cleans lmao

I'd rather have a stiff spine than a broken one.

Yo thanks for the clip of your 1 leg day of the month!

If lifting weights killed your ability to run, running backs wouldn't be strong as fuck. With guys like Saquon Barkley squatting 585 at 233 lbs. Or QB Jaylen Hurts hitting 600 lbs at 223 lbs. Hell, Haloti Ngata was a 331 lbs nose tackle that could clean 385 lbs and bench over 500 and he ran a 5 second 40.

People who think you can't be really strong and still be athletic and fast are just outright dumb.

I'll be that guy:
when people hit plateaus they react in ways determined by their insecurities.
Many just straight up give up, some start changing "sport" every other month and pretending they know better, some embrace the suck and keep on going.

We are in the age of freedom, we can do whatever we want and it is harrowing, most people aren't able to bear such responsibility and once lifting weights starts becoming hard (your squats become heavy, your bench starts being dangerous) most people just stop trying to become better.

Lifting has actually made me better at sprinting, because I have more explosiveness and fast twitch muscle fibers. However, my jogging speed has gotten much slower because I’m much heavier.

Plus if Larry moves freely on the machine
He would just his hands on the machine
In other words the machine is too small for him☠️💀

Bro is a fucking space marine on a very challenging tread mill. I only use them for sprinting but its hard af to be stable and consistent on them (for me at least and most people)

KEVIN LEVRONE!!! He ran against an Actual sprinter and didn't lose by much. He was insanely fast for a mountain of muscle.

For the record i used to run a 5:20 mile 3 years ago, now in my senior year of highschool I'm hoping I won't run slower than a 6 min at 200lbs...🙃

CrossFit and its consequences have been a disaster for the fitness community.

on the contrary, most people would get huge athletic benefits from just hypertrophy training

Blud probably think a bone stock prius could do half a sec in a quarter mile

Yeah its not the hypertrophy training that makes you bad at sports or whatever its not training for those sports that makes you bad them. There's no such thing as "non-functional" muscle its all technique and application. Its more to do with your brain being functional than anything.
